Seems both may have been wrong and in fact he may just suck as a baseball player. I don't remember seeing many players fall this hard but given the chance they need to unload him ASAP.
Well, the suckass Matt Carpenter is now up to .250/.371/.491, with an .862 OPS and a 128 wRC+. He leads the team in homers, RBI, total bases, and walks. [Reply]

That's what happens when you pay 18-20 million per for a guy's mid-30's in the post-steroid era where guys actually have normal aging curves now (except of course, David Ortiz, who somehow put up the best season of his career at 39 gets away with cheating).
The Wainwright extension was likely to be a disaster towards the end. The Molina once will likely be even worse.
Aside from the Holliday and Carpenter contracts, I can't say too much good about Mozeliak's negotiating the last decade. [Reply]

Leading this team in anything offensively isn't something to brag about. He somewhere around the 23rd best 1st baseman offensively. Matt Adams is crushing the ball right now for Atlanta.
We have all seen this before, he will hit well for a number weeks and then go to shit again.
Pretty odd the only place he seems to be able to hit is lead off. [Reply]

He's 11th. Stop making shit up and going off of two week samples. [Reply]

Hey great man he is a slightly above average MLB player.
He also just got doubled off first because he is a shitty base runner.
