Somehow my wife Ok'd me to "chaperone" her brother and a few of his friends in Vegas for his 21 bday.
Headed out there this weekend. Staying at the Bellagio, got a good deal on a room then got it upgraded to a suite somehow for like 20 extra bucks per night.
Any recommendations on what or where to hit up?
I've been a handful of times so I know a few places, just looking for any other ideas. Where is the best sports book for the Sunday games? [Reply]

We figured the old downtown would have some cool 'old school' cheap prime rib kinda dinners - natch. Best we could find was a little diner that I vaguely recall was near the Golden Nugget (but it probably wasn't...)
Freemont was probably my favorite part of the trip but we were there over March Madness and St. Pats so of course the place was absolutely nuts; 4 different concerts going at various locales - too awesome.
Don't go to the steakhouse inside Circus Circus - that was highly recommended and disappointing as hell. Atmosphere was really neat, don't get me wrong, but I actually had to salt my damn steak to get some flavor out of it and it wasn't exactly tough, but it wasn't better than what I could get at Texas Roadhouse. All in all, a thoroughly average steak from a place that sure appeared to be coasting on reputation.
Fremont AKA DTLV is where its at! And next time try Hugos Cellar at 4 Queens. WAYYYYY better than Circus Circus [Reply]

OK - I guess you never leave the house...
I'd guess that Vegas is probably one of the safest places to go with all the surveillance and security on properties. Not going to let some crazy MoFo dictate my travel plans. [Reply]

"Resort fees" really chafe me, to the point that I won't stay in a hotel that charges them. They're nothing but hidden fees that are tacked on after they've already given you a price.
Resort fees, people. Ask about them. And don't stay in a place that charges them outside of the stated room price. [Reply]

Not like the good ol'days, but wife and I had prime rib dinners for $30 the last time we were there. So, not bad.
They tried to bait and switch us but found some when I told them to fuck off and that we were going to leave. [Reply]

In cased you missed it, this is great advice. The Westgate is the old Las Vegas Hilton and is just off the strip. You can take the monorail there.
Hi Carlota! We'll be planning a trip out there next year once the schedule is released and we know when we play the Raiders. [Reply]

Eggslut was amazing, well worth the 1.5 hour wait. [Reply]
