Ward is on basically a one year deal. Baker is coming off an injury. Sneed is good but behind him is Fenton and Keyes. We still need to keep adding young, cost controlled talent. [Reply]

Doubtful. Don't have enough draft capital to get up that high. It would like costs this year's 1st and 2nd plus next year's 1st and 2nd and then some. [Reply]

It cost two firsts and a third to go from 27 to 10. So it’s at least that to go from 31 to 12. Plus who in the top 15 is moving that far down without wanting a ton of picks in return. [Reply]

It cost the 49ers THREE firsts and a 3rd to move from 12 to 3.
Anybody that think we're trading into the top 15 for less than two first and probably 2 more high picks like a 2nd and a 3rd is kidding themselves.
We're going to get bent over dry if we try that trade. [Reply]
The current draft value chart has the #3 pick at 2200 points.
SF traded #12 (1200), next year's 1 (1000 averaged) and 2022 round 1 (500, again averaged) plus a 3rd worth approx. 200 points.
Miami then traded from 12 back to 6 (1800) by giving up next year's first (1000), #12 (1200), and swapped late round picks (net 25).
Those two trades alone show that teams are willing to pay 20-30% premium over what is considered the current draft value chart, and that's using averages for future years.
Moving from 31 (600) to 12 (1200) is going to cost AT LEAST next year's first just to get to the break even point. They'll need additional picks beyond that to make the trade stick because the trading partner is going to expect 20-30% premium. [Reply]

Yeah, that's not the same scenario. Dolphins knew the 49ers had to trade with them for their best chance at QBOTF considering the Jaguars and Jets weren't willing to deal. The Chiefs aren't pigeonholed into one spot they have to trade into for what they want. [Reply]

Gimme a break man.
You just said they were trading up for a left tackle.
Everybody knows the Chiefs need a left tackle, even you, because you said it yourself.
If you think the Chargers are going to just sit there and let the Chiefs leap frog them, you're kidding yourself. [Reply]
