it was actually pretty good, all the actors seemed to be well up for it (except for the mom). I was shocked that they gave away all the big surprises in the first episode though..

in the book you don't really know that Happy is Haley's imaginary friend or that she's his daughter until the very end
Didn't read it, but I'm guessing it will be a single season story to save the girl. Probably only a single season show. Drawing that arc across multiple seasons would be too much of a stretch.
Will definitely be carried by Meloni though, with an assist from whoever writes Oswalt's dialogue. I liked Meloni in Oz and pretty much hated SVU. Haven't seen him in anything else, so wasn't sure what to expect. Very different role for him, and I think he did well. I like Oswalt, but when his dialogue is bad he's just annoying. Just OK in the first episode. [Reply]
Bump. Been a fun ride so far. The story is dragging a bit in this last episode so glad that there's only one more left. The fight scenes are worth it though--the one in China town was SUBLIME from start to end.
