I hate buffets and always have. The food is always mediocre and there's just something wrong with the idea of gorging yourself to the point of vomiting so that you can justify spending $14.95 on "all you can eat". [Reply]

I went with a friend after a sporting event maybe 10-15 years ago. It was Golden Corral, I remember that. That was the last time.
Growing up I used to love this buffet called Ryan's. Sooo good. There was also this local mom and pop buffet we'd go to once in a while that I always enjoyed.

But yeah, they're pretty gross.
You should Google "Ryan's Steakhouse".
On second thought, spare yourself the agony and don't. [Reply]

Agreed. You can get great food that could be 2 meals for the same price (I'm thinking Chinese or Thai).
One thing I used to notice about buffets - the food is so damn heavy. I skip grains to get to the good stuff, and generally eat pretty light, but after a tester plate and a 2nd plate with the stuff I liked, it always felt like I needed a wheelchair to get out of the place before going home to sleep the rest of the day.
