So what?

Yeah, Mahomes needs to improve. He needs to not be so twitchy in the openings of those games. Rarely has he come up short at the ends of games when the chiefs had chances to win.

You realize the kind of QB he is? How quickly he learns stuff? How hard he works?

Teams haven’t cracked a code on him. They’re just doing everything they can to stop his big plays. He’s 24. He’s gonna get it. He’s gonna reach an unstoppable smart level when he enters his prime.

Jesus let me just repeat that. “When he enters his prime.”

This isn’t his prime right now. He has yet to enter that stage of his career. Just think about that one.

This is what I’m saying. You see it too. It’s an area of his game he needs to improve.

Everyone here should read that and be like “yeah, he’d definitely do well to settle down at the beginning of big games”.

But most people acknowledged that Pat wasn’t good enough on Monday night. Even Clay the homer of the year.

Throwing 6 TD's in a game should be good enough to win. Throwing over 400 yards, 3 TD's and no interceptions should be good enough to win.

Pat can't control all the dumb penalties that have killed drives, the fumbles and the defense losing the time of possession most every game.

Decided to go back and pick a few pages to read throughout this thread, and I came across this gem.

.@chiefs @Chargers @PatrickMahomes @jbbigbear @tkelce how does anyone consistently make these throws. He has no comps. Chiefs can roll with #MVP back. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/TslPl4fgoe

Wylie and Reuter and two of the worst linemen we've had here in a while. They play as though they were found in Cleveland's dumpster.

I'd say the Colts game this season counts as well as the Chargers game late last season.

All of the other primetime games besides the one against the Bengals he started off slow because he gets the yips or tries too hard to put on a show or something, which ends up putting us behind the 8-ball. It's awesome that he has the ability to go nuclear in the second half to salvage a poor start, but he needs to get better about showing up for a full four quarters.
He was actually pretty good early in the Colts game. He got derailed by the ankle injury and the rest of the game went to hell. But I agree in general he needs to get off to a better start in the primetime games.

Not to mention that both Hill and Watkins were out (as was Fisher) and our #3 and #4 WRs aren't very good.

I mentioned that earlier. The Colts, Chargers and Rams games were the ones he came up short at the end of the game.
