Messi hasn't won a world cup despite having several chances. A club god no doubt but his international record is not as good as Maradona and especially Pele who won a world cup aged 16/17 years old and even scored in the final.

Our boat had a port of call in Naples in 1992, the year after he had left Napoli when Italian football suspended him. it was crazy how much graffiti in the city was about Maradona.

Apparently now, the graffiti are well-done murals of him, about 20 throughout the city. Then, it was mostly his name all over the place.
