Excuses can be made -- have been and will continue to be -- but these numbers are tough to dismiss.

Most help you could give Brady is a viable 2 TE set.

Problem is that I think they missed their window w/ a stronger TE class last season.

Instead of N'Keal Harry, they should've taken Irv Smith. Then they'd be in position to pursue Tyler Eifert and have complementary TEs. Run more 12 personnel and they could use James White more effectively as a running threat, IMO, and if he could be used that way he'd be DAMN dangerous out of the backfield.

Maybe Austin Hooper and Hunter Henry in FA?

He needs guys who he can get the ball to over the middle of the field; his arm just doesn't let him use the sidelines much anymore. And when teams know that, they simply don't honor it much and the Pats STILL need razzle-dazzle to open up downfield throws.

The bottom line is that this may be one of those quixotic endeavors that Pioli tried when he was here with Cassel - throwing resources at guys to paper over the fact that his QB just isn't good enough.

If the Brady that starts next season is similar to the Brady that ended this season, that's not really an NFL caliber starting quarterback.

Saw something that Brady's suite at Gillette where his family watches games from was cleared out.

You can tell it's serious if they took down the NAMBLA "Man of the Decade" plaque.

No. This is different.

Gisele and Tom had all kinds of their personal and kids stuff in that suite. Pictures. Nic-nack's, etc. Every off-season they've left it in the suite.

Now it's cleaned out like a college dorm in June.

Not jumping to conclusions but another piece of circumstantial evidence the GOAT is cutting ties with the NEP.

Gisele has never cleaned out the suite before. It may mean nothing but its different and since Tom has moved out of his house to CT, its another thing.

Brady is done. Doesn't matter if he goes somewhere else. Kind of sucks. Really wanted to see Pat take him on in the AFCCG.

But Brady's time is over. I think that the prototypical pocket-passer may be a thing of the past. Never thought I'd say that.

But the NFL is heading towards passers that can run. Look at the QBs coming out of college now. the Tuas, and the Lawrences, and the Burrowses. They can all throw sure, but they can all run as well.

Add in the fact that offensive lines can't protect the QB as long as before because they don't get the practice and they don't stay together long enough anymore.

So the QB has to scramble and improvise. Two things Brady can't do.

Brady can't move and he can't throw off-platform or off-time.

He's through.
