Nzoner's Game Room>-- Let's talk about counting calories & routine
Simply Red 09:38 AM 03-29-2018
Hi Guys,

I'm up to a 36 waist - thanks to Del Taco and a few others. As well as eating pretty poorly over the last year, or so.

I'm on a strict regimen now and doing a three week diet and then merging it into a new way of life. I have a history of eating well (normally) - but, again; have been quite clumsy over the past year or so.

My plan is to limit myself to 1100 calories a day the first week, then up to 1200 the second week, and then stay on or around 1500 calories as the norm, with one cheat day per week.

After the third week - I'll get back into some sort of exercise, which too will be part of the new 'way of life'

In this thread I'd like to discuss food ideas for assisting myself (& others) with weight loss.

Since Monday I've not gone above 1100 calories/daily - I have eaten oatmeal, oranges, bananas, hard-boiled eggs and in closing, in the evening - I'll eat one of the Chick Fil A Spicy, grilled chicken wraps w/o dressing (350 cals)

I'm open to ideas - but the goal is - finding items that are a little less common and more creative.

Please assist at your leisure - anyone else need assistance or interested in jumping aboard, I welcome it.

Thanks again

If you are plenty active then 1800cal is not your maintenance diet. You would have to be a slug.

RIF. I said my BMR is around 1800 calories, which is what my body burns on it's own. I also said my maintenance would be higher than that, due to my activity.

I knew a guy who lost almost 40 lbs after having stroke cause the food would fall out of the side of his mouth........

Uh, never mind. That's really not a very good way of losing weight now that I think of it.

Missed my down day target of 500 calories by a little - 560 calories. I was pretty active today with working on some projects around the house so I am sure I made up the difference.

Down to 219.4 lbs this morning. Another nice down day drop. My wife and I are going into town today for some delayed anniversary celebration (movie dinner/lunch,some shopping) so i am not worrying about counting calories today, though I'm not planning on doing a free for all either.

Tell me again your strategy here? I'm a little confused on up and down days, etc... not being a wise-guy - I seriously don't know.

Down days are Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday with a 500 calorie target. Up days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday with a 2500 calorie target. Saturday is a heavy day with a target of 3600 calories max. It all averages out to 1800 a day for the week.

When I get to 200 lbs (my first goal), I'll recalculate to a lower average (probably 1600/day).

Hmm, interesting - well i say if you're seeing it work - you do you! Good job. Keep posting updates, we all will continue to sort of hold one another 'accountable' or whatever......

Wasn't planning on exercising yesterday, but ended up getting to go.

Goal of 2,020 calories; ate 1,654 calories; exercised away 746 calories for a net intake of 908 with 1,112 left over.

I'd really prefer to be around 450-600 left over, but my kids ate all the food before I got through the line.

The real test for me is going to be on a non exercising day.
