NFL odds: After Sunday night, Patrick Mahomes is now the overwhelming NFL MVP favorite

Frank Schwab 2 hrs ago

We can cease and desist with any debate about someone other than Patrick Mahomes being the NFL MVP favorite.

You’ll hear people argue that Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Alvin Kamara or anyone else should be “in the conversation,” but the only real talk is that the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is the overwhelming favorite until further notice. Everyone else is vying for NFL offensive player of the year, though Mahomes should probably win that too.

Sunday night’s heroics, leading a game-winning drive over the Las Vegas Raiders everyone knew was coming, solidified Mahomes’ position. He’s the best player in football and he’s having a phenomenal year.

The odds at BetMGM reflect that.

Mahomes is -118 to win MVP at BetMGM. Next on the list is Wilson at +350. Aaron Rodgers is +550 and nobody else is less than 12-to-1.

I think Seattle is overrated.

I see Tampa or Green Bay going to SB. Saints have a great D but I think Brees will limit them as he looks about 50% of his old self.

Yeah, no way that's an 'official' record given those examples.... the first legit one in the video is like 4 or 5 in.... and counting the "ruled down????" one as a pick shows how desperate they are to add to this list.... and another one wasn't dropped, it was called back by a penalty.

~3-5 that were legitimately, oh shit, he got lucky... and that includes the benefit of the doubt with a couple of diving defenders.

It’s already been debunked. Someone said it was more like 7 actual dropped interceptions for the season.

They stole it from a comment in that Mahome's on top of the mountain tweet. Someone said it in there and these guys just ran with it.

Saying a ball that rolled into a dudes leg is a dropped INT is hilarious.

Most of those could have just as easily been considered "completions" as "interceptions" if that's the way they're looking at it.

I’m not literally saying he is LeBron James. I’m saying that he is treated by these hot take shows in a similar vein to him.

Mahomes is off to the best three year start for a QB in NFL history and it isn’t even close. Endlessly talking about how good he is doesn’t make for good TV. Finding rivals for him does.

They badly want him to have a rival and him playing in KC is part of it too, if he was doing this for the Giants they'd be sucking him off much more.
