Cant do that with the direction they are going. Apparently this is supposed to be the film that jumpstarts the Justice League film. There's so much potential to screw this up, I hope they know what they are doing.
How are they going to do a Batman VS Superman fight that isn't Dark Knight Returns, and still have it be as epic as Dark Knight Returns, without ruining the possibility of a future Dark Knight Returns film?
I really like the look of the batsuit/batmobile. Affleck is a tossup whether he pulls the role off or not. Ive seen him in some really great performances, and Ive seen him in some pretty nasty bombs. He's got the ability to be a great Batman.
It just remains to be seen whether his ability mixed with Snyder's directing is a recipe for disaster or not. [Reply]

They already shattered any hopes of a DKR plot in Man of Steel when he tells the general or whatever that he doesn't work or answer to the US government and that he's not their poster child. I also can't imagine that story being told in a non-Cold War era setting (otherwise it would be a hard sell without that kind of atmosphere/backdrop). Hopefully they don't pull off the campy New 52 Justice League shit where it's just like "omg! you're batman!! I thought you were just a myth!!" before scuffling a little bit due to different philosophies. [Reply]
I don't think you could really do The Dark Knight Returns at this point for the same reasons why Watchmen felt a little odd to many audiences. DKR took place on a backdrop of the cold war and the decline of cities into violent places run by gangs. Those sort of societal worries don't really exist at this point. [Reply]
