Saccopoo Memorial Draft Forum>QB Impressions
Direckshun 12:25 AM 01-03-2017
First glances at several QBs we're going to give a shit about over the next four months. Feel free to set me straight.

DeShone Kizer, Notre Dame
6'4", 230 lbs
26-9 TD-INT, 59%, 2925 passing yards

I get a Cutlerian vibe from this guy. Seems to be built like a franchise QB. Powerful arm, some beautiful passes, perfect bodytype. But he is lacking an "it" factor, is he not? He's not a world-beating, overcome-the-odds, particularly spiriting QB. Looks like he could have an okay career in the NFL in which he wins nothing of consequence.

Mitch Trubisky, North Carolina
6'3", 220 lbs
30-6 TD-INT, 69%, 3748 passing yards

Well if there was one Andy Reid QB in this entire draft, it's Trubisky, isn't it? Super accurate, doesn't take too many risks with the ball, is very mentally tough and very athletic. He's a slam dunk for the Chiefs to trade up for, if he lasts to the 20s, but in a QB-starved NFL with at least 6 new head coaches looking for their QB, there's no chance he lasts to us.

Patrick Mahomes scored 4 TD’s on that defense with a 3rd rd tackle and 5th rd RB.
Quick question. What was Mahomes' completion percentage against LSU?

50% with a bunch of drops by guys like Grant. Go watch the film. Mahomes put the ball on the money vast majority of the time. Receivers were scared shitless and I don't blame them considering the NFL talent they were up against in that LSU secondary.

Josh Allen struggles to complete more than 50% against craptastic Mountain West defenses.

Yeah because every week is like going against LSU for him. His guys are always outmatched.

Davon Godchaux as well, a 2017 draft pick of the Dolphins.

It was essentially an NFL defense.

I've seen plenty of tape on Allen blowing screen passes. This was the same issue with Davis Webb at Texas Tech. Mahomes was an immediate upgrade just on the damn screen passes, never mind everything else he brought to the table that Webb didn't do.

RB Brian Hill
TE Jacob Hollister
WR Tanner Gentry
OL Chase Roullier

Every single one of these guys made an NFL team this year and Josh Allen played with all of them last year.

The fact that he couldn’t do better in the Mountain West Conference with 4 NFL players says it all.

LSU game included, Mahomes has always elevated his game enough to make the players around him better. Mahomes magic, you could call it.

Then you look at what Allen has done in college, especially against teams that were from the Power 5... it's not pretty. His numbers go from bad to worse. He wasn't making his guys better.

So who's going to fix Tim Tebow's Josh Allen's throwing accuracy, Knowmo?

There are times when Allen can't fucking hit the broad side of a goddamn barn.

He can be off sometimes, but he can get hot too, like he did in the Tater Bowl.

We'll see how he does when he has some better players around him at the Senior Bowl.

It'll be fun to see. I'm betting that he just needs his guys to be as good as the D he's playing against.

Josh Allen will kill the Senior Bowl and then most likely kill the combine throwing session because he’s perfectly built for those. He will wow people with his strong arm throwing all of the passes in shorts at practice. People will be impressed when they see the zip he puts on out routes.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Dorsey drafted this kid 1st overall. If we learned anything about him, it’s that he will always draft the boom or bust prospects. Peters, Tyreek, Kelce, Jones, Tanoh, Pat. All fit that mold.

I feel bad for the kid though. Cleveland is QB Graveyard and they will force him to start immediately due to #1 draft pick status. If he is lucky, Dorsey will also trade for Alex Smith and that will give Allen a chance to sit for a couple years to learn.

Inaccurate qbs don’t get accurate once they get to the nfl
