I actually didn't mind this. It's really the only way a superhero like Batman makes any sense. He is going to get shot. The suit itself looked pretty bulky, particularly in the torso. I think the shotgun blast to the belly at point blank range was a bit much but tanking small arms fire was fine by me.
Actually, if I was going to nitpick anything it'd be how loud his boots were lol that gang in the beginning scene heard him walking from like 20 yards away. Then he's somehow able to disappear while standing next to that cop in the Riddler's place.

If it is bird or buck shot a regular bullet proof vest will take a shot gun blast. You will be all sorts of welted and bruised up and probably be really sore but not dead and it will take you off your feet.
Heard a story of a security guard that got one right in the back while wearing a vest knocked him down and out. Said thankfully it did cause he was sure if he moved the guy that shot him would of taken off his head. [Reply]
When Colson was refusing to give up the rat's name I initially got a Court of Owls vibe, but obviously that was shot down a bit when it was revealed to be Falcone.
At the end, though, when Catwoman/Batman mentioned a power vacuum, I got some strong No Man's Land vibes, especially after such a disaster. They could easily go that way in the next one if they want. If done well, it could be really awesome. It'd be a good way to introduce a bunch of rogues at once without needing to flesh out an origin or backstory for each one.
They really got me with the Riddler/Batman talk near the end. I was sooooooo sure he'd sussed out that Bruce was Batman. Pattinson did a good job of looking shook at that moment until it's revealed that he doesn't know.
It's actually a pretty ironic deal. The Batman thinks the Riddler's figured him out and completely misses the bigger picture because he becomes hyper focused on that. At the same time, The Riddler is so close to figuring out that Bruce is Batman but just can't put two and two together because he's hyper focused on his agenda. I thought that was pretty cool.
That actually leads me to another thought: I liked the idea of Batman kind of being a beacon to these weirdo fucks. The Riddler thinking Batman was working with him and his origin stemming from Bruce Wayne. It really drives home the point of Batman being nearly as psychotic as his rogues.
