Yep, I agree with the people saying that if he's not traded tomorrow, then he's not getting traded for awhile. Guys request trades alot. How come everyone thinks he's being traded just because he asked to be traded. [Reply]

Maybe things change over there. Maybe Ramsey has a different outlook.
Maybe the Jaguars are also considering giving Ramsey the extension. I think most teams would have already extended him if they picked that high in that year's draft and got the production Ramsey has given. [Reply]

If jacksonville are getting close on a trade they will sit Ramsey. The other team involved will probably insist on it. The entire league will know what sitting Ramsey means and any last-minute bids would come. The Jags would love a bidding war to heat up late. [Reply]
I think the Jags would have extended him already if they wanted to keep him. It is apparent they want to trade him for sure.
If he plays tomorrow night it doesnt mean they wont trade him, BUT if they dont play him, he is definitely going somewhere.

You are forgetting the personal tension between Marone and Ramsey. That can be very difficult to repair. A guy in the front office can avoid a player but the Head Coach can't. [Reply]

That is certainly going to be a difficult part of the trade. You aren't paying a 1st, a 1st and 3rd or two 1st to rent a play.
Ramsey's ego is going to demand that he become the highest secondary play in the league. He might even want to be the highest-paid defender in the league. More than Aaron Donald? If Ramsey was being reasonable the jags would've signed him already. [Reply]

No team is giving him that kind of money so he’s gonna have to bring it down if that were the case.

That means his fair value is 19.68m per year x 3.
59.05 for 3 years. 36% of that is roughly 22m which I would expect to be a signing bonus that would be split between the 4 years at 5.5m per in dead money.
I’m sure there would be verbiage in the deal protecting the team in case his head explodes.
For the 12 games remaining, he would have cap impact of 3.2m this season if he plays 12 games for us.
Next years cap hit (for 5th year option) would be 13,703,000 plus the prorated portion of the bonus which would be approximately another 5.5m which would put his 2020 cap number at 19.2m.
The Chiefs currently have 23m in cap space. Minus the 3.2, we would likely rollover close to 20m...which just so happens to be almost exactly Ramsey’s cap hit for next year.
One has to think that these are the EXACT numbers (or very close) to what Veach is deciding on.
Interesting that we re-structured deals to clear that much space almost to the dollar.
