If the Chiefs saw Kingsley as a great player who could fill that spot, does the loss of 30 slots in the goddamn 5th/6th really fucking matter? What the hell were they going to draft there that is worth more than the assurance that they'd get their guy?

They didn't lose draft picks. They lost draft slots. Who the fuck cares? Just draft a bunch of Spags DBs with those picks, because those are just about guaranteed hits every time. Blam. Draft value recovered.

This has to be kept in context. KC for the foreseeable future won’t be drafting Top 10 or even 15. This team, while drafting 27 or later since 2017 has been to six straight AFCCGs, four SBs, while winning three. What they are doing is unprecedented despite draft position.
