and by JW, are you referring to James Williams, or Jason Whitlock....because I'm hoping its Whitlock. [Reply]

Found this. It's Ian Rapoport saying, "To my understanding, the Chiefs won't negotiate until he shows up." I take that to mean, "Ian might be making it up".

Yes, but not from Jones. You let guys like Fuller, Colquitt, Hitchens, Watkins, LDT walk in the next 2-3 years to pay for truly elite players like Jones. [Reply]

I’d agree with this...except Fuller.
He’s going to have an elite season and earn a big deal next offseason.
I’d love to get him inked right now, before that happens. [Reply]

They'll let some of them go either way, but you've gotta have a price point for everyone. We don't really know for sure what Jones wants. [Reply]
Every move this team makes since April 2017 needs to be to help Mahomes win championships. Let’s look into the specifics of how that happens from both sides of the ball.
On offense
1) protect him
2) give him weapons that allow him to attack the whole field
3) provide him with RBs that force defenses to play us honest.
On defense
1) Be able to rush the passer from the A gaps and the edges. Force opposing QBs to throw earlier than they want to and force them into the occasional mistake.
2) make the first line of defense (DL and MLB) able to stop the run, so opposing offenses can’t “play keep away” from Pay and the offense.
3) Have tons of playmakers in the secondary that are opportunistic when chances to take the ball away present themselves.
Jones is a guy that is going to help Mahomes win championships. [Reply]

So to go along with our franchise qb you think we should have a good offensive line, receivers and rb on offense and a good Dline, Linebacker corp and secondary. Genius! [Reply]

Schwartz needs a new deal her soon as well [Reply]

If he does, we’ll have to evaluate then, but I want to see him prove he’s a top 10 caliber corner. Right now he isn’t one and it would be a mistake to pay him like it. [Reply]

Chris Jones is a “clean” player.
No injury issues
Elite production at arguably the most important position in today’s defenses
Leader
No distractions
Energy fountain
Disruptive in every element of his game
Elite body type
Loves KC
He’s EXACTLY the type of player you pay huge money to.

yeah, that’s a standard team move too. I don’t get this. It’s just a stupid dance. You want him. He wants to stay. You know the going rate. He and his agent know. Just skip the nfl template dance back and forth and get it done. [Reply]
