Also, He was playing in "A" ball last year. Thats a helluva jump to the majors in one off season. He's just using that natural talent at this point.

If you are throwing over 100, if you can get any change in velocity or movement and guys will be falling over trying to hit it. Guys can guess fastball every time right now so he is just a high powered pitching machine. If he gets some movement or a second plus pitch, watch out. [Reply]

It is unlikely that Hicks is gonna be a high K guy, given that he wasn't at any level. Given his control issues, I doubt that he ever amounts to much in the pen.
Carpenter is 2-3 again tonight. Getting him right has really jump started this offseason.
