Nzoner's Game Room>Marcus Peters also had verbal altercation with assistant coach Sunday

Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters’ frustration following the Chiefs’ 38-31 loss to the New York Jets didn’t end immediately after the game, it appears.

According to a report by NFL Network’s Mike Garafalo, Peters also had a verbal altercation with an assistant coach on the bus during the team’s ride to airport following the game. The assistant coach was not named.

The Star reported Thursday that Peters’ suspension was related to his decision to leave the field prematurely following the flag toss. The club viewed that as a team issue, as opposed to the penalty flag toss, which it deemed a league issue that Peters was ultimately fined $24,409 for on Friday.

The NFL Network report cited Peters’ decision to leave the field as a reason for the one-game suspension coach Andy Reid levied on him earlier this week, with the verbal altercation also being a contributing factor.

The Chiefs still had a little over two minutes left to tie the game, and Peters returned to the sideline –– albeit with no socks –– as the offense made its last-gasp attempt. But the drive stalled out, and the Chiefs lost for the sixth time in seven games.

Peters’ suspension means the Oakland native will miss the Chiefs’ showdown Sunday against his hometown Raiders. He was not allowed to practice this week and will forfeit a game check.

Since then, there have been several issues with Peters.

Football talent doesn’t exist in a vacuum.
This isn’t how you felt when I brought up Veach not trading up for Finley

You don’t think Veach had a hand in drafting peters?

Finley?? I don’t recall.

As for Peters, word on the street was that he was Ballard’s baby.

I’m sure the decision was made that Reid and the locker room could handle him.

That was fairly true until Berry was lost for the 2017 season.

Without Berry, he imploded.

Why should Peters behavior be on the shoulders of Eric Berry?

But let’s not pretend that Peters is an Eric Berry or Patrick Peterson type of personality.

If they trade him, it’s because of his personality, not his proven ability.
I think Peters will play much better once the stench of the dink and dunk is gone.

Conley, autocorrect

He imploded when the season went off the rails. Obviously went to far but he plays with attitude and obviously wants to win. I don’t think the defense has enough of those guys

I don’t understand that correlation.

If Peters play and attitude is a direct reflection of the Chiefs QB, then they should definitely trade him.

Meh, I don’t think players should lose their cool because the team failed to win 11 games this year.

You certainly did not see that from past Chiefs secondary standouts like Deron Cherry, Lloyd Burrus, Albert Lewis, James Hasty, et al.

I do agree though that if they’re willing to trade him at this point, it’s bad

Lotta things are different in 2017 than those days.

He had some bad looks for sure.

Maybe Reid and Sutton could do their ****ing jobs and discipline the guy instead of standing there like buffoons when he does his retarded antics. Once they were forced into action after the Jets fiasco, he came back and didn't have a single problem. He needed a wake up call. Again, his attitude problem was NO SECRET to Reid and his staff. Just like Kelce, they failed to stay on top of things.

Harnessing talent and getting it to perform to its potential is a coaches job.

Reid sat Peters down and he came back playing as good as ever.

Peters has been genuinely excited when Mahomes is out there, too.

I just think the style of defense Sutton was forced to play (due to lacking talent in the secondary, imo) and the style of offense the team played with Alex at QB (Peters even tweeted something negatively about the dink and dunk) got the already hot headed kid even more frustrated.

He’s gonna mature into a DMVP candidate.

It better be for us.

I’ll gladly keep him and his competitiveness for the next 3 years MINIMUM.

It already is bad. He was suspended, penalized for stupid infractions, caused sideline circus, partied with Marshawn/Raiders and the list can go on and on.

I don’t disagree from a football only perspective but clearly, there are other factors at hand.
