Michael Penix, Jayden Daniels, and Joe Burrow don’t get shit on for transferring to better situations after three years and excelling. All three of them threw to WRs who were drafted in the top 10. Burrow and Daniels were both throwing to TWO first round WRs during their final season.
Have you ever stopped to think that those QBs elevated their respective WRs up the draft board? Or is that correlation too large for your stupid ass?

Btw, you DO understand that Mahomes didn't play in the SEC....right? :-)
You can’t shit on Nix for struggling on an overmatched team against SEC opponents and then give Mahomes a pass when he only completes 50% of his passes against an SEC opponent.

Nix played at Auburn from 2019-2021, in total he had four offensive teammates get drafted in the 2020, 2021, and 2022 drafts.

Mahomes played at TT from 2014-2016, in total he had four offensive teammates get drafted in the 2015, 2016, and 2017 drafts.

Damn, I never thought of that. How many WRs did Mahomes elevate into top 10 picks when he was in college?

Learning more about Nix since the draft, it does seem like a good pick for Denver. I could see it working out. Disclaimer: I think I believed something similar about Russell Wilson.

"Analysis: Calling Mahomes a project is a major understatement. He’s nowhere near ready to play in the NFL. And, honestly, he may never be. Between his inconsistent accuracy due to poor mechanics, his tendency to bail from clean pockets and his lack of field vision, he’s going to leave as many big plays on the field as he creates. This was a risky pick."
Obviously you could find negative reports for just about anyone. But like RunKC said, Nix is generally considered a high floor type (and a bust by some) while Mahomes was considered a high ceiling prospect who needed a little discipline and refinement. Some thought the Chiefs reached in picking him at 10, but almost everyone saw the potential.

That said...I posted that in response to Q Joe's "extremely excited" comment. Not even necessarily to highlight the part about Nix, but about the Broncos' situation in general. You know damn well you'd be having a heyday with KC fans if the roles were reversed and we were hyping that team. Denver has the 4th-lowest SB odds as of today. The Broncos could bring 53 dudes off the street and Q Joe would tell us they were primed for a big season. No exaggeration. :-)

And in the midst of all these draft report comparisons, one thing you guys haven't compared is the situation he's walking into. Okay, he's got a decent coach with a reputation for being good with QBs. What else? Does he have a Kelce? Hill? Kareem Hunt? A great OL? A defense? Cap space? Does he have a solid pro to learn behind for a year? Not to be a downer, but are there any other parallels that make you feel highly optimistic here?

Nix might be a decent, high-floor prospect, but it's hard to envision him as a guy who's going to carry a weak roster. They're likely going to need to put a lot of talent around him and that might take awhile.

Leave it to Knowmo to blame Mahomes for his defense allowing 56 points.

Mahomes threw 370 yards, 4 TD’s and 1 INT with Jakeem Grant and DeAndre Washington vs an LSU defense composed of: Jamal Adams (top 10 pick), Tre White (1st rd pick), Deion Jones (2nd rd pick), Jalen Mills (7th rd pick), Davon Godchaux (5th rd pick), Arden Key (3rd rd pick) and Duke Riley (3rd rd pick).

Mahomes made awesome plays against an enormous talent disparity

This poster boldly declared a few weeks ago that he had inside information that the Broncos were going to select Laiatu Latu at number 12 - which would be the start of a "milk toast" 2024 draft. :-) Quoting him reflects more on you than on Broncos fans.
That wasn't meant to be taken too seriously, but I definitely saw it from 3-4 posters, not just one. That said, I'm not sure if any of those posters actually flip-flopped after the draft. I did notice a decent amount of "please not Nix" leading up to the pick though.

But on the subject of being disingenuous, what do you call this?

Oh, and in that same three-year period, his teams won almost twice the number of games Mahomes' teams won in his three-year- college career.

As if you weren't aware that Mahomes had the worst defense in the country and little talent at the skill positions? His win/loss record in college meant less than nothing.
