More trade news: The #Chiefs are deep in talks with the #49ers on a trade for star pass-rusher Dee Ford, sources say. Things have escalated and this could get done by the end of the night. Ford needs to work out a new contract with SF, which is a big piece of this.
An underrated part of this is that we can now give Dee the Lin Elliott treatment since we won't feel guilty that he's still a contributor this season. [Reply]

I get you but those sacks didn't really accomplish anything in the end. It was still the second worst defense in the NFL that cost us a chance at a championship. The defense was utterly helpless when it mattered most. Better to start fresh, IMO.
The strength of this draft is edge rushers and defensive line. If we can come out of the draft with a couple pass rushers and a couple of defensive backs I believe we will be better in the long term and short term. The upgrade in coaching will be more impactful with a culture change on D.
Also, I think once the initial free agent frenzy settles down we will be able to fill most of our remaining holes with cheaper veterans who think playing with Mahomes will give them their best shot at a ring. [Reply]
