Posted the same thing earlier. It doesn't even make sense to make a noose/slipknot for a garage door. [Reply]

NASCAR’s blunders aside, the reactions from the community were real, it was good to see everyone rally around Bubba when they were all under the assumption that it was a nefarious act. Those reactions were real. [Reply]

They're tied like that for a reason. When the doors are down you can hang the loop on a nail at belt level so you can grab it and open the door without bending over and picking the rope up off the ground.
Take a door up and down a few dozen times a day and you'll learn to appreciate the loop hanging on the nail. Especially if you're over 35 and been slinging tires for a decade. [Reply]

Agreed. Overall it’s a positive for NASCAR. They went from the neckiest sport of all time to wokest sport almost overnight. [Reply]

I just don't get it. I have been in and out of over 100 garages, never have seen them tied like that. They are always just a giant knot or a basic circular knot. [Reply]

Their statement should’ve just been something to the effect of:
“It was brought to our attention that an object believed to be a noose was found in the #XX garage. We take these allegations very seriously and will fully investigate the situation. Swift action will be taken to address the findings, and we will have further comments upon the conclusion of the investigation.”
Let people know that you’re taking it seriously, but you aren’t forming an opinion until all the facts are known. [Reply]

They're on most garage doors in my area. It's not actually a noose, but very similar. No one wants to bend over and pick a rope up off the floor multiple times a day every day. [Reply]

Overnight? You think Nascar went from 1960 south to 2020 Berkeley overnight? I dont think so. I think nascar has grown with the times like everywhere and not even close as redneck as you thought. I dream of the day when I quit hearing the term "WOKE". Insulting [Reply]

And that answers the question I had. Thank you. [Reply]

At the garage I worked in as an autobody expert we used just a circular knot up on a nail. [Reply]

If the guy wasn't complicit, then he and his team are as dumb as shoes. These guys have been in and out of a million garages in their lives and yes, they know what the damn pull-down at the front of the door does. And it wouldn't have taken a second to realize that there's weren't the only ones.
He didn't concoct this idiot scheme, but he damn sure played along with it.
Or is this one of those 'soft bigotry of low expectations' things where you just presume that poor sweet Bubba just couldn't have figured this out?
Probably a dipshit with the press didn't understand what he was seeing and thought they had a scoop. [Reply]
