Agree, but logical that the previous anti viral coronavirus treatments would be a great starting spot or any that have been in development in the animal health world as well.

Hopefully we get that breakthrough, sure a ton of time and mony being thrown into R and D by the big players.

I agree it can prevent , when used properly.

Would you agree that you can ingest a droplet full of the virus easier without a mask? I'm well-aware that mouth and nose masks don't do anything to prevent transmission via the eyes.
Dude fucking stop. You saw what I just posted. Now :-).

AC,

I've already mentioned much higher rates of mortality from the CDC's MMWR, which you ignored, and those rates are higher for the ages in your bracket than flu's mortality overall even in a bad year.

You mean this?

We know these masks are more to keep you from spreading it as opposed to prevent getting it

Don't bother Donger. Pete thinks he is never wrong about anything. Didn't you know?

Shortly? 2 days later .. but ok.

According to the article the death rate is NEVER higher than .16% for any group under 40, which is what I was referencing. Although I later looked at the report itself and they misquoted and it should have read "for any group under 50".

40–49 0·161% (0·0764–0·323)

Here is what the report says regarding total numbers for age groups under 60 (I should have just used this figure but I was being conservative)

<60 0·145% (0·0883–0·317)

huh? Reread my post because you obviously missed a step. What you quoted does not at all negate what I just said or in any way support your argument.

If you had said the CFR for cases under 40 is similar to the overall CFR of very bad flu season, you wouldn't have had so many people disagreeing.

Re-replying because you changed the post.

I very much said BAD FLU SEASON and that is what was quoted and what Hamas was a prick about.

I did however have a SEPERATE post from TWO DAYS AGO that said under 40 was same as the flu (in regards to mortality) which is also true or close enough to support the point being made. (I'd have to run the numbers but I think it is close to .12% for under 40 according to the report.)

It would decrease the chance. Without a mask, down the hatch it goes if you put said infected fingers in your mouth.

“Just” 59 million more cases to go until it equals the 60 million # of Swine Flu cases during the 2009-2010 pandemic (and that 60 million # was just in the US).

Yet I don’t remember the same frantic minute by minute case count update from the media during the last and most recent officially declared pandemic.
