Sassy Squatch 12:55 PM 07-14-2020

The #Browns and star pass-rusher Myles Garrett are closing in on a 5-year extension worth $125M, sources say. Another massive deal, this time for $25M in new money per year. Their top priority of this offseason and they are in the final stages. 💰💰💰

No brainer. He’s the best player on that team at a valuable position.

Exactly. Any you trust a guy giving him this much $$ and tying up your cap to some degree with this type of behavior?? The Browns continue to be the Browns.:-)

How do you define "take over games"?

30.5 sacks in 37 career games. What does dominance look like to you?

It might be situational. Like does he come up big in Critical 3rd down plays like Chris Jones does?

In fairness, the Browns haven’t played in very many big games like the Chiefs have the past few years.

He flashes that ability, but isn’t consistently great. He completely disappeared in many games, even in a contract year. Very frustrating player.

You can say that about pretty much all young non-Chief guys who came out around the same time as Mahomes.

BTW, I just looked it up; where does everyone think this ranks ALL TIME vis-a-vis sacks per game?

He has 3-4 game stretches where he shows the talent to be like a Strahan type of player then disappears for an equal amount of games.

Good signing by the Browns. He is arguably the second or third best player taken in his draft. The three most important positions on the field are the QB, the guy who protects the QBs blind side, and the guy who sack the QB. Garrett is very good at getting after the QB and he hasn’t even hit his prime yet.
