Again, reread all my post in here... I've never ignored that, and in fact, stated we need to have policy in place to protect those that are vulnerable so they can be healthy and economically sustained. However, having 600 unemployed for every Covid-19 death is not sustainable and will lead to much bigger health and societal problems.

Point is with the way things are right now, you can die because of Covid the same as you can from Covid. And these are the things some doctors and medical professionals have been trying to draw attention too.
You know what I meant .

As with any of these, I really wish they'd be more specific in their language. What does "ready" mean? I'm confident it doesn't mean that they'll have 7 billion doses of it available. It doesn't really matter if they have a vaccine that works if it can't be mass produced with speed, so these articles don't really tell me much.

Doesn't justify stating inaccurate facts but you go on now....

I've not heard anyone say a vaccine would be ready this year at any time. As much as I'd like this to be true you have to question.....

By focusing on this 1 small aspect you are trying to minimize it. How many of those 600 will be able to find a job in the future( hard to predict) .

Fear mongering in an equal and opposite direction is still fear mongering.

What inaccurate fact did I state? Agreeing with someone's post? Does that commit me to every proposition in his post or something?

If this puppy works Bill Gates better get the production line fired up.

I know that's the plan - they'll start cranking out as much as possible even when trials are happening in hopes of being ready when the time comes. Even from them, though, I haven't really heard a lot about timing and scaling.

:-)
maybe the issue is that you're trying to make a definitive statement using numbers that are estimated and the range is crazy. 151k to 500k estimated.

HTF do you come up with anything at that point?

On a more serious note. If they have a vaccine ready by September, I think this would be far and away the fastest vaccine ever created.

I love vaccines. I think they are truly amazing.

But a vaccine created this fast concerns me for safety reasons.

Then again about a month ago I was ready to start throwing every possible theraputic in the book at people to see if it helped. So that probably wasn't very safe thinking.
