Yeah Pete is pretty predictable. When I see a certain group of folks on Facebook share memes he usually comes to this thread and echos the post in some fashion. This past weekend I started seeing "Covid has only killed .05 people in Kansas or something stupid like that.

So I looked up the stats if COVID kills as many as it has the past 6 weeks in Kansas it would end up being the 3rd largest killer in the state behind jesrt disease and cancer. Just slightly ahead of accidents and that's in KS a state not hit nearly as hard as others by COVID.

These people have been proven wrong at every turn and try new ways to downplay the virus instead of just admitting the obvious: they are wrong.

Yeah we know, you've been saying how Mo is a hot spot despite the numbers proving you wrong. But you know, keep telling everyone else how you are right. Your days of getting paid to play x-box are just about over.

People say I downplay it because I don't have a doom and gloom view of it or otherwise don't share their particular view.
Your right in regards to most people who get it will get over it ok. I worry about the supposed "mild" cases like OTWP had where he couldn't breathe for like a month. If that was me I would probably drop dead from an anxiety attack first. :-)

I talked to my daughter tonight and she wanted me to pass this message on to all of you that want to go back out to work and not wear masks and such.

Please make sure you have an updated DNR. They had a man code the other night and did 3-4 rounds of chest compressions because he didn't have a DNR and the family didn't want him to die. Not real good on the human body if you know what I mean.

Have a good night.

First off I would not call what OTWP had "mild" by any stretch. if you think what he had was mild then you're ****ed in your head more than I thought. Secondly you've already taken a cheap shot at me via my Son and yes, you are a complete ****head for that.

What people like you and titty boy don't get is just because some people don't share your fear or doom and gloom or in his case, his desire to stay at home and get paid to play video games all day, doesn't mean we don't take it seriously. But we also see the other aspects of things.

If people could just "stay at home" without having to worry about how they are going to feed their families then it wouldn't be a thing. But again what people like you and tit head don't get is most people don't get paid to stay at home. And those who don't can't just survive on a $1200 check.

So while you think I downplay the seriousness of the virus I would say you are the epitome of the person who downplays what it means to not work and earn money to feed your family. But that's because you aren't in a position that this impacts you financially as most who claim "you don't take this serous" are.

I can work from home and get paid. I am lucky. Most people can't. And that's just the fact you and your fear need to come to grips with.

Once again you're wrong and trying to make me look bad because my employer has decided to protect its employees as some sort of bad thing just speaks to how warped you really are.

So far a virus with no immunity or vaccine has killed 418 Missourians and that's only since middle of March when it became a thing here and the public has largely been shut down the past few months.

Looking at the most current stats I could find for leading causes of death in MO (2017):

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/s...i/missouri.htm

Theres a pretty good chance the end of the year numbers could be higher than diabetes, stroke, suicide, the flu (which you claimed this was) and many other terrible diseases. Which most of those things listed arent even contagious like this virus.

Type away with each keystroke you only continue to prove you dont understand what you are talking about, you dont care who gets sick or dies as long as it's not you or someone you love.

Yeah, that's it. I don't care. Good straw man.

Let me say you only care because it means you get to stay at home and get paid to play your video games.

I dont play video games but if I only wanted to stay home and play video games I sure wouldnt down vote your verbal diaherria because all of what youve proposed doing will only cause more deaths and pro long the virus. We rushed the openings and did very little meaningful stuff to slow the virus down. There will be more shutdowns in the future. Thank you.

Yeah, I don't believe a fucking word you say. You are the typical asshole that as long as they are getting paid to stay home thinks everyone should just stay home.

Meanwhile I would lay real $ the instant your check got cut off you'd be screaming that we need to get back to work, etc.

And you're very fucking welcome.

Fantastic argument Pete.

What happens to those going back who rely on tips? You think just because everything is open theyll make enough to pay rent? What happens when they dont? What happens if they miss a few weeks because they contact the virus? What if the business has a large outbreak?

Yeah I'd like as many people to stay home as possible right now because we dont really have an answer as to what happens under the questions I laid out nor do we have enough testing right now to target the virus.

"Open everything up" is baseless nonsense at this point.

Yeah, I know, you are so worried about those people who need tips to survive that you want to keep them unemployed.

So, you wanna know what happens to them? They go broke if they listen to you.

You'd like everyone to stay at home because you are lucky enough to be getting your check to do stay at home. So the truth is, you don't give a rat's ass about anyone else so long as you are doing okay.

Meanwhile Mayor Lucas whom you've been so proud of, thankfully decided to ease the restrictions on restaurants today. No one said "open everything up". That's just another pitiful straw man you have to keep throwing out.

It's simple...no one is putting a gun to your head to force you to go out. You don't want to go out? Don't. But you know, it's okay if you want to go to Hawaiian Bro's and you know, take advantage of them risking themselves so you can eat something you could very well go without.

Don't they classify anyone who doesn't go to the hospital as a mild case no matter how sick they are?

Big problem with all the stats showing number of mild cases?

I don't know but I wouldn't call his case mild. Perhaps wouldn't call it critical either. I don't see any stats for "mild". Not saying there aren't any. I do see stats for serious\critical. I would say he was probably serious.

But to be honest I don't know how they classify the cases. I can tell you this, our hospitals are not flooded with Covid patients. Not even close to flooded. So take that for what it's worth.

I would even go as far to say that we are spending more resources trying to prevent and be cautious of it than we are actually treating it.

Thanks for the not answering what happens to those people and most arent broke right now they are collecting unemployment and I support them doing so or atleast creating something like UBI until we can come up with an actual plan.

Its evident you have no answer you just mirror what certain ideologies tell you.

WTF? "Mild" was sarcastic. You should go back and read his posts on this subject. People are classifying mild covid as not being hospitalized. Yeah he didn't have mild symptoms and alot of covid positive people aren't hospitalized but they aren't having "mild" symptoms either.

I don't even know what the rest of your post is about. We are both in health care IT and both are lucky that way. I have family that own small business and are out of work they also aren't taking this pandemic serious either. It sucks all the way around and we need to find a balance.

"Most aren't broke right now"....spoken like someone who has no fucking clue of what he is talking about. Like I said, the second you stop getting paid to sit on your ass will be the second you start screaming to open things up. You aren't fooling a fucking person about it.
