Nzoner's Game Room>2019 Free agency Thread
O.city 03:24 PM 02-05-2019
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

It's almost like people didn't watch this team last year.

One of the best, if not the best pass rushing team in the league and the defense was STILL terribad.

Balance, kids. This defense can improve overall with half the number of sacks as last year.

Damn, why didn't I think to hope for this?

Bailey has been a solid player for this franchise. He played 4-3 under in college and could be a versatile piece. He has merited his pay AFAIC.

I’d be pleased to hear of new deal for Bailey.
I agree again

Maybe he isn’t getting great offers :-)

I’d think if someone offered $6M+ by now, he would have signed

Hot take incoming:

Allen Bailey was one of the more overrated starters and teams had a lot of success running right at him last year, but someone will point at the stat sheet all day long even though running lanes given up isn't an actual stat.

I'd still take him back, but in a more limited role and at a smaller salary. He's 32 now so I'm sure it was a case of wearing out. If he's wanting to at least match his 2018 pay than Well, bye.

I agree.

Would only want him as a part time pass rusher on the interior... more specifically, a backup for Chris Jones

I had to look this up because I was in complete disbelief.

1.) He's 30, not 32. (turned 30 yesterday)

2.) I'm still shocked he's 30. Can't believe we drafted the dude EIGHT years ago.

Oh well hell. PFF has it listed as Age*32.0*1987-03-25

That makes a bit of a difference.

I'm going off of Wikipedia, so it's possible I'm wrong.

I feel we hear some rumblings tomorrow.

A possible player visit, maybe?

Breaking:

Last week, Chargers’ QB Philip and his wife Tiffany Rivers had their ninth child, Anna Rivers - two short of an entire offense. No word on whether they’ll go for it.
