There are easier ways to take acid, but you do you.

Not sure how this works with the herd immunity argument...

Sailors on sidelined carrier get virus for second time

https://apnews.com/0cae34376380ab4150002a58bd9934b9

WASHINGTON (AP) — Five sailors on the U.S. aircraft carrier sidelined in Guam due to a COVID-19 outbreak have tested positive for the virus for the second time and have been taken off the ship, according to the Navy.

The resurgence of the virus in the five sailors on the USS Theodore Roosevelt underscores the befuddling behavior of the highly contagious virus and raises questions about how troops that test positive can be reintegrated into the military, particularly on ships.

It's only slightly less disturbing than when it spread through our Paw-Paw supply. No one wants to lose their Paw-Paw.

Do you just not read to the final period and make comments? Almost certainly relapse and or testing issues. Did you miss the South Korea example altogether that made headlines and then was found to be testing/relapse issues? This has jack shit to do with herd immunity. This is a long illness in about 20% of people that catch it, two weeks is meaningless for herd immunity.

Fucking fear porn headlines get clicks. That’s all the damn media is these days thanks to social media, and we all play right into their hands with posts like this.

No, it's not almost certain. They don't know yet.

Calm down.

Lol, fair enough, I should calm down the fire directed at you. The headline is so misleading and frustrates me because it causes fear. People read these and swear off vaccines “because South Korea”. It’s literally dangerous how the media drives fear for clicks. You don’t get the possibilities (which have been demonstrated over and over) of relapse until the final sentence.

They've confirmed that it was not reinfection in the South Korea cases.

Didn’t gorilla Pitt say his HS friend tested positive twice and was symptomatic and hospitalized twice , never got a follow up .

The odds say it was false negatives depending on the timeline.i guess it would depend how many negative tests they had before being considered recovered.

I bet most of the posters in this thread who read scientific journals to learn about the novel coronavirus feel the same frustration I do educating the average friend or family member who only reads the headlines. It’s downright irresponsible the shit that gets put out there and is never corrected with the same eye popping headlines. Zero chance Donger has read any of the studies and still throws out the herd immunity comment. For those sailors to have been completely “recovered” at the cellular level and then to “catch” it again goes against everything know to viral science. There’s a mountain of evidence that’s says this novel coronavirus hangs out for weeks and some patients relapse. Also a mountain of evidence the tests provide insufficient accuracy to draw conclusions of reinfection vs relapse. Two week time period in this article is truly laughable. 8 weeks and I’d still guess they were relapsing, or even more likely detecting dead viral rna.

Yep, definitively proven and.... they have demonstrated in separate studies that 100% of people develop antibodies, although some take up to 8 weeks.
