Washington DC and The Holy Land>234 of 235 House Dems co-sponsor bill forcing schools to let males compete as females
CasselGotPeedOn 11:50 AM 04-11-2019
Every House Democrat but one has co-sponsored a bill requiring schools to allow male athletes who identify as transgender girls to compete on female sports teams.

Democrats’ Equality Act would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to make “sexual orientation and gender identity” protected characteristics under federal anti-discrimination law. Among other things, the bill would force public schools to expand female athletic teams to include biological males who identify as transgender girls.

Sarah Warbelow, director of the left-wing Human Rights Campaign, praised the bill’s impact on high school sports in written testimony submitted to a House subcommittee on Tuesday.

“Opponents of equality in athletics for transgender athletes have argued that girls who are transgender have unfair physiological advantages over cisgender girls and as a result, will dominate women’s competitive sports,” Warbelow wrote, calling it not “rooted in fact” that biologically male athletes will outperform their female counterparts.

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, a Democrat from New York, made a similar argument during an April 2 hearing his committee held on the legislation.

“Many states have sexual orientation and gender identity nondiscrimination laws, and all of them still have women’s sports. Arguments about transgender athletes participating in sports in accordance with their gender identity having competitive advantages have not been borne out,” Nadler said in his opening statement.

In Connecticut, one of the states to which Nadler was referring, two male runners have dominated girls’ high school track. A female competitor called the male runners’ advantage “demoralizing.”

Julia Beck, the head of a self-described radical feminist organization, testified against the bill.

The Democrats’ bill would lead to a male invasion of female spaces, including on the athletic field, Beck said in her April 2 testimony. “Men will dominate female sports,” she warned.

Of the 235 Democrats in the House, 234 have co-sponsored the legislation. (That’s not counting Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico’s non-voting representatives, who also signed on as co-sponsors.)

Reps. John Katko of New York and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania are the only House Republicans to co-sponsor the bill.

Illinois Rep. Dan Lipinski, the only pro-life Democrat left in the House, is also the only one in his party not co-sponsoring the Equality Act.

Blatantly racist solutions to allegations of racism aren't a good idea. Who could possibly have known that?

The real story here is who are these two liberals that call themselves Republicans? They are the cancer that needs cut out of the party. It's their type that necessitated the term RINO. :-)

Yep. That boy is one of the most blatant examples of the abuse in that system. A straight-up male athlete with all the hormones and muscle structure of a male allowed to compete and beat with the girls.

Sickening and wrong. Those girls are being denied their right to fair competition in the name of identity politics. They need to come after this with torches and pitch forks.

Maybe Deontay Wilder will eventually compete as female?

Today I feel like a Tree- I think I want to Identify as a tree. Hopefully, the Dems can pass some legislation based on the National Park bylaws to protect my feelings.

Reality is that I am a human- but if I "feel" like a tree on the inside- I should have my rights protected.

As an employee- I should be able to stand in the corner and give shade. Since I am a tree, I should not have to be expected to perform duties a human would. This would violate my rights and under the new Dem legislation- it is a hate crime. I will sue - if you don't leave me alone and let me be a tree.

Another example of conservatives perverting any kind of thoughtful discussion by immediately rushing to assign their opponents the most extreme positions possible. If you support transgender rights, you want men to spy on little girls in the bathroom. If you support abortions, you want to allow mothers to abort babies on a whim right before conception. If you support UHC, you want us to model the country after Venezuela. Dumb, bad faith arguments strawmanning the other side is just par for the course these days in right wing politics.

Oh dear lord, you are a mess :-)

All of your hyperbole was pretty awesome, but the abort babies on a whim right before conception one was the best! That's just my opinion of course. Others might think one of your other hyperbolic points are better:-)

Which is why I said the abort babies on a whim one was best. The bathroom bill one was closer to reality:-)

Did you forget the outrage conservatives had over the bill that allowed the extremely rare late term abortions and how they tried to make it seem like Democrats were in favor of last minute abortions if the mother decided for any reason that she no longer wanted the pregnancy?

If the goal was more equality, then the participants should all be required to have the same biology. This isn't about equality.
