Lights Out was just meh. Relies entirely on jump scares for the whole movie.

So the "monster" in the movie is basically some weird ghost apparition who can't be in the light, kind of like Darkness Falls. So the protagonist is in this house where she knows the ghost is and they all bunker down for the night (in separate rooms). They light a few candles, duct tape the light switches on and then pass out.
Of course, they wake up in the middle of the night and the power is out. So instead of waking up her kid brother, who she is there to protect, she leaves him in the bed alone and goes down to the fucking basement to check the breaker.
I seriously could not get over how stupid that was. Really took me out of the movie
It was ok yes on the slow side and some of it hard to understand but it wasn't a terrible movie & I think the slowness is it must have been boring back in the pilgrim era. It actually set up for what was going on and the wickedness of The Witch. I mean you could since or see the pain and turmoil that faced the family and then the end just ended.
I liked the movie for the most part, but i thought the ending was rather unimaginative. [Reply]

rotten tomatoes gave it 4% HAHAHAHA! honestly I think RT gets it right mostly.

naomis kid gets in a wreck with father...father dies kid lives and is in a coma...for years....and naomi is taking care of him at home. then another little kid starts coming round getting naomis attention. so then the coma kid...who has be PRETENDING this whole time!!!! FOR YEARS!!! well he gets jealous and starts sneaking around trying to kill the little kid and get naomi back to himself. welp....that's it.
