I look at people who haven’t switched to dark mode and 80 posts per page the same way I look at people who still shit in outhouses.
I shit outdoors, no outhouse needed.
TVs and computer monitors and screens in general are way better than they used to be, but there are still limits.
The team I'm working with has a code review on Friday's and they all program in dark mode. Dark mode has more glare and reflections. I guess they are used to it? I sure notice it.
I have noticed that one guy sits in a dark office to program, so I guess that's one way to beat the issue of glare and reflections with dark mode. [Reply]

I prefer the look of dark mode, really like the red and black... but, switching from a dark mode page to basically anything else puts strain on my eyes. I have Google Messages on dark mode on my phone, and that's about it. Even if I had everything dark, just looking up from it would suck.
I probably could have used it 20 years ago when I sat in the dark quite a bit late at night, but not so much now. [Reply]
Among 472 "active users" (with >100 posts in the past year):
69 dark mode (15%)
17 at work (4%)
14 Royals Planet (3%)
110 "full featured" intentionally (23%)
262 "full featured" because they've just never changed it (55%)
That said, I think that's based on the actual setting in UserCP, but the drop-down in the bottom left is cookie based, so it's possible those aren't fully accurate. Still, kind of interesting to see. [Reply]
