You would definitely think so, but from what I'm finding out now, no they did not.

Sweden's controversial decision not to impose a strict lockdown in response to the Covid-19 pandemic led to too many deaths, the man behind the policy, Anders Tegnell, has acknowledged.

Dr Tegnell told Swedish radio more should have been done early on.

"There is quite obviously a potential for improvement in what we have done."

Sweden has counted 4,542 deaths and 40,803 infections in a population of 10 million, while Denmark, Norway and Finland have imposed lockdowns and seen far lower rates.

Denmark has seen 580 deaths, Norway has had 237 deaths and Finland 321. Sweden reported a further 74 deaths on Wednesday.

...

Now he has told Swedish public radio: "If we were to encounter the same disease again, knowing exactly what we know about it today, I think we would settle on doing something in between what Sweden did and what the rest of the world has done."

When asked if too many people had died too soon, Dr Tegnell said, "Yes, absolutely."

...

Although there was no lockdown, Sweden relied on voluntary social distancing, banning gatherings of more than 50 people and halting visits to elderly care homes.

Are you just intentionally being obtuse? I dont know what your problem is anymore but you have made a habit out of taking what I say and twisting into something that you know was not said and then expounding on it.

I'm kind of curious how the vaccine trial works. They're going to give it to 30,000 people, who are presumably paid volunteers. Do they then use national statistics as a control group? I presume they're not paying another 30,000 people to be a control group.

But if you're in the vaccine group, I wonder if you behave differently. Do you have more confidence to be out and about? Not wear a mask? I guess they're probably asking them a lot of behavioral questions, but then they'd also have to ask some control group the same behavioral questions. Maybe the control group is just a public survey?

So last Friday we couldnt have graduation parties for graduates but 3 days later the mayor of my town encourages people to join protest gathering at the city park and have patience for looters. Today businesses are suddenly allowed to open back up fully but asking for social distancing. What a difference a riot makes I guess.

Just because some people want to be stupid doesn't mean it's a good idea, just remember that.

My post was dripping in sarcasm. I`m mocking the decision making pre/post riots. C19 was very serious one day and 3 days later its gone from the headlines.

It’ll be interesting to see how much the numbers jump after these protests.

The Phase II Moderna trial is placebo-controlled with two different strengths of vaccine.

Phase II/III of the Oxford trial uses the meningococcal vaccine as a control.

They'll skyrocket, you watch.

The number to keep an eye on will be the numbers of hospitalizations and deaths.

Dr. Williams here in Missouri was asked today about the number of cases that have been reported from the pool party at the lake over Memorial Day weekend.

There's been a grand total of 1 case reported.

If it didn't spread from Lake of the Ozarks, seems there are 3 options: being outside in the sun/heat killed the virus pretty effectively 2) it has mutated to be less potent as was rumored from Italy 3) the people that attended are all young and don't show symptoms.
