I'd like to hope that the people who truly need them are able to get quick turnarounds.

Not everyone needs a PCR test done, IMO. Do antigen testing of people. If they test positive, ok great. If they test negative and are exhibiting classic signs, then do the PCR swab
How was the rapid testing experience? A doctor on TV just now said by fall there will be 6 or so rapid testing devices which is what we need. We really need something simple to do at home as well.

The Q-Tip still tickles part of your brain, but not the whole thing. They still jam it up there pretty good. It's crucial you let them so that they get a good sample.

Outside of that it takes about 15 minutes to get results. The jury is out on how accurate the rapid tests are. I think antigen testing is somewhere in the range of 80-85% accurate. The Abbot machine I've had 2 tests done on seem to be a mystery as far as accuracy goes. (I've seen claims of up to 95%, but back when it was released, there was a fuss over people possibly using it incorrectly causing it to only identify like 50% of cases accurately)

Ive probably said this before but my county has the newer non invasive test that only swabs the inside of the nostril. I wonder why more states and counties still have the brain pokers?

Super crowded cities with crowded public transport. Check.

Little official lockdown. Check.

Elderly population. Check.

Low level of testing and no contact tracing. Check

Very high level of mask wearing and not many hugs or handshakes.

:-)

Nah, must be that they have some sort of super genetics.

Yeah hard to get cases when you aren't tracking them...that's honestly probably the way to go too

I asked my doctor why they are stabbing brains and she said it’s much more accurate.

So let me get this straight

There's a supervirus of death that pretty much instantly infects everyone that encounters it, is apparently passed on by simply breathing, lives in detectable amounts on surfaces for days, etc....

...and they can't detect it unless they basically touch your brain?

Something is off here...
