Nzoner's Game Room>Need some help from the mechanics
TLO 06:51 PM 08-15-2020
2015 Dodge Charger RT - 75,000 miles.

I'm noticing a clicking/ticking sound coming from the front end, (sounds like maybe from the right side) under acceleration at low speed. The noise is also present when coming to a stop. It seems to be worse when turning under acceleration. At higher speeds the noise goes away. (Will generally stop once I hit 15mph or so)

The noise is not present when the car is cold. Takes about 15 minutes of driving before it becomes noticeable at all.

Car seems to be running well, no issues shifting.

Will try to provide more details as needed.

Sink it in a river. Report it stolen. Profit.

Damn. Having to replace a hub assembly at 75k. Probably have to do the other side as well.

The noise is coming from directly under the center console

Could be u-joints best case, worst case there may be something wrong with the transmission. Do you drive it like you stole it?

If you can, get it on a jack, crawl under it and try to shake the driveshaft. If it moves, then it's the U-joints

Im thinking lifters. Dodge has a known problem with lifters between 75-100K. It will flatten the cam as well.
The system where it cuts out four of the cylinders to save fuel is actually very hard on the cam and lifters.
This happened to my truck, I replaced the motor and got a tuner that allows me to turn that feature off. Problem solved.

Good Luck, I love me truck.

I've owned it for about 3 years and have driven it pretty gently.

There have been a few times I've put it through its paces, but it's not a regular thing.

I'd say start with the u-joints.

Wheel bearings were the culprit. Never heard a bad wheel bearing make that noise before but at least it's fixed!
