Media Center>Biggest Curve Ball Movies
Holladay 11:23 PM 12-30-2019
I am re-watching the Matrix. When it came out in 1999, there were some reviews that I didn't watch. I saw it a few years later, and because I had no clue, when I did watch it, it FLOORED me. Total surprise.

Similar to the 6th sense. Blew me away, again.

What other movies have done that?

Please no spoilers:-)

Great call on The Gift. I don’t know if it’s a twist but it was a tremendous ending (although not as good as the Katie Holmes Gift ending...but different reasons.ha).

Have you seen The Prestige? Might be one of Christopher Nolan’s best twists.

I looked up The Gift and I found one from 2000 and one from 2015. Both look like they could have a possible weird twist. Which one are we talking about?

2015 has a great plot twist curveball. Watch this all the way through.

2000 just watch the last 10 minutes or stream it on an adult site.

The Game

Arlington Road

Those movies are so amazing if you like twists. I think my jaw hit the floor during the game. I love twists and thrillers and those might be my top two.

In the 70's horror films were like the exorcist or Carrie. I thought Alien was going to be a straight up Sci-Fi flick like 2001. Boy was I surprised.

Usual Suspects and Brazil are a good call.
"Brazil" is still one of my favorite movies of all time. I swear I see something new in the movie every single time I watch it, and I've probably watched the movie at least 40-50 times. Things like the ducts, or the shoes, etc. But also subplots that reappear. I'm at the point where I wonder if I'll ever see everything in the movie; it's like peeling layers off an onion.

Don't know if it's ever been played on TV.

"Brazil" was directed and written in part by Terry Gilliam (Monty Python). But don't expect the movie to be like "The Holy Grail," or anything like their other movies. It is a dark comedy and the humor is very dry for the most part.

If you like very intelligently written movies/stories, "Brazil" is a feast for your mind.

It'll also warp your brain a little; I literally couldn't drive for about ten minutes after I saw the movie for the first time in the theater.

Psycho...some true curve balls. Hitchcock worked to ensure they didn't get leaked.
