Okay, here is a place for the Golfers to talk about tournaments, clubs, swing help or thoughts.

Today is the Players Championship, which I think ought to be the 5th Major. Largest pot in the PGA. The daunting 17th, which seems to bring excitement every year. At least we will get to see Sergio blow up yet again.

I am ready to see some water balls!

Tiger's swing is way too flat right now.
Amazing to me is the complete psychological breakdown of Tiger Woods. I understand being long left or leaving the club open. But missing short putts is something he's never done.

There has been well crafted shell around the guy for 15 years. Seems like it's gone now.

I don't ever recall Tiger really struggling. He's played well for his whole career and never really had to face adversity with his game. Now the self inflicted adversity in his life has eaten it's way into his golf game and he is struggling. This is a big test of his fortitude. If he's withdrawing for being 2 over par and playing poorly it is not a good sign for him though.

I think Tiger's 'Wood' may have just played him out of ecilpsing The Golden Bear's Major Tournement Record.

Well we had a few issues early in the round and by the 6th tee we were two holes behind. I spoke up and told these three guys that we needed to catch up. Every shot the rest of the day each one of these guys could not select a club before it was his turn to play. They didn't even make an effort to be ready when it was time for them to play. :shake:

The day went on and I was struggling a little. We got into the back nine and I birdie two out four holes and I'm making my move. Nothing great but with two or three birdie holes left I had a chance to get in with a 73 and be in good position for the 2nd round if nobody tore it up.

After the 2nd of the birdies I had just made I walk up on the next tee and I see the Marshall coming our way. I new why. We were still two holes behind.

He put us on the clock.:-)

I had the honors and the hole is a short par three. #15 at Rivercutt in Springfield. It's not a full wedge so it requires some touch. Because we were on the clock I did not take enough time stairing down the shot. So moving with alacrity I made a quik decision to hit my 115 yard high 3/4 wedge shot. I executed! I watched in anticipation as my ball sailed over the green. The ball came down barley off the back of the green and bounced up hill like 20 yards.:-) WTF? The ball crosses the cart path and comes to rest in 6 inch rough.

At this point I was playing to just make my bogey and press on.

So I have this down hill shot out of 6 inch rough to a small green that's running away from me toward the water hazard. It's an OMG shot to begin with but to make it worse the cart path has a curb and it's stairing me right in the face. I know I can't hit this shot the way I need to because of the curb. I know my ball is gonna hit it. :-)

The marshall was back on the tee box talking with that group. I wanted relief. So I start waving my arms to get the marshalls attention. He's not paying attention so I yell to my playing partners to get him but they don't understand. So we're on the clock and I'm not playing because I want a ruling. This is causing me a ton of stress at this point. Fn idiots. I finaly play out of frustration and my balls hits the curb:-) and bounces back, gets on the cart path and rolls farther from the hole behind the bunker. It's as bad as it was before if not worse. I make 9 before it's over. :-) I'm so steamed........:-)

We get on the next tee and this one dumfuk says "O.k. we gotta play ready golf now!" I've already got it on the peg and I play out of turn. It's a short par 4 and I drove it up by the green. I chip on and the others knock it on and then I turn around and see Mr. Ready Golf walking a big circle around the fairway looking for a yardage marker. He's not 40 yards from the hole! It was like a bad joke.:-)

So we're finishing up #18 and Mr Ready Golf is up and he proceeds to walk around the hole like three times sizing up his putt. He stopped at one point to look in the cup...To check the grain? He's 40 fukn feet from the hole!:-)

That's a big, time consuming circle he's walking so I think fukit and I putt up and have a tap in for a bogey left. I walk up lean over the ball like I'm gonna putt but I look up at these bozos and I look'em right in the eyes. Then I hit my ball off into the pond by the green. WD! I disapeared with the one guys score card and made him track me down to get it. I should have thrown it in the pond with my ball. Fukn d!ck!:-):-):-):-):-):-)

The bolded is the cruch of the whole deal.

If nothing else in my golf career I wanted a City Championship. Guess I wasn't good enough. I made last group the year before this debacle but I didn't get it done. David Kriksey(sp) won.

I pro-gress!

Today I played in a free tourney for AMXP/Ameriprise. I played wiath my sister, 55 year old cus and then much younger fenmale cus. Me and basicaly three none golfers.:-) It was a tempest on the course! Those damn girls and my old cus made a few putts and we shot -4 in scramble. I'm really proud of them....

Hank Haney has quit as Tiger's swing coach. Hamas was right on cue. Maybe he should become a golf analyst. Probably too much cussing for the golf channel. :-)

Good for Tiger. That should help on the technical side.

And this is one of those "forced to resign" situations if I've ever seen one.

Tiger only hired Haney because he worked with O'Meara and Tiger was sans coach after canning Harmon.

There are a lot of guys out there who could help Tiger (first by making his swing more upright so he'll age better), but he is going to have to humble himself and be willing to accept coaching rather than just a yes-man, which is what Haney was.

Best golf story I got....

When I was in highschool this underclassman ask me a question. His question was about his chosen career path. He told me that he loved baseball but that he also loved golf. He asked me if he should focus on basball or should he focus on golf? I told him that it's up to him but if you go bb and don't make it what are your choices? If you go golf and don't make it there are a ton of jobs. ....Well.......He became a golf pro at a club and now I hear he's buying golf courses.....plural....

Shit....I feel like a daddy and I want to cry.

So, I'm dealing with some major Sergio-itis, and it's driving me nuts. I just can't get comfortable over the ball, and I'm re-gripping and shuffling my feet like crazy. It's infuriating, and I don't know how to beat it. It's also having negative effects on my game. Any suggestions?
