Snyder's Man of Steel, which rebooted the Superman franchise, has grossed north of $600 million worldwide since it hit theaters this June.

According to two sources with knowledge of the movie, Warner Bros. intends to announce the news at its Comic-Con International panel Saturday morning. Said a Warner Bros. spokesperson, “We don’t comment on rumors regarding these properties.”

“Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder is expected to reunite with screenwriter David S. Goyer and star Henry Cavill for the new film. It’s unlikely Christian Bale will step back into the bat suit, as the actor has indicated publicly that he has moved on from his days as Bruce Wayne.

“Man of Steel” producer and “Dark Knight” trilogy director Christopher Nolan is expected by some to produce the project, but the exact nature of his involvement is unclear.

The move marks the culmination of years of effort on the part of Warner Bros. and DC Comics to bring their superheroes together in a similar fashion to their primary competitor Marvel, which successfully combined its superheroes into a $1.5-billion box-office hit with “The Avengers.”

In the comic world, the two heroes are teaming up in a new series, “Batman/Superman,” by writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee.

Yes, he has

Even though Shannon was joking about his flippered fate, his character shows up in the trailer for BvS, which he finds amusing: "It's a really awkward situation," he said. "I'm in the trailer for a movie that I didn't work on." Well, didn't work on much
, at least; it turns out that he will be in the movie — in voice. "The thing about the whole Krypton universe, apparently, is that even when you destroy them, there are ghosts," he explained. "I went over and did some voice-over stuff because it’s like that ghost thing. But I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that."

The destruction in the end, we're holding Superman to it and using it as a backbone to why Batman and Superman are at ends with each other. We didn't like Zod dying, Superman doesn't kill! Don't worry kids, we're bringing Shannon back and making him the bad guy again in another sense.

I don't mind the way Snyder is going about this movie, I actually like that the main villain is being kept a secret. It'll get spoiled closer to movie time, but he's going about it better than JJ Abrams did with Khan in Into Darkness. If it is Doomsday, then so be it, technically Doomsday dies over and over again anyways and then is brought back as a more efficient killing machine, but why turn Zod into that? It's like recycling instead of just giving Doomsday the story he deserves. I just have a bad feeling that they will Spiderman 3 Doomsday like they did with Venom. Bloat the hell out of the movie with so many characters and backstory just to give the badass villain 20 minutes of ending battle screentime.
Because DC

What? Doomsday is basically just a mindless freak. He was genetically engineered to be resurrected after every death- immune to whatever killed him.

It's a cool concept, but pretty straightforward. What "Justice" do they need to do the character? He's not complex.

This kind of works in this thread, but I believe the Suicide Squad and BvS movies are existing in the same universe. I wouldn't be surprised if the person Leto is taking to, in the Suicide Squad trailer (saying, "I'm not going to kill you; I'm just going to hurt you very, very bad"), is Jason Todd, who is eventually killed by Joker and turned into the Red Hood. I wouldn't be surprised to see this movie taking place after Suicide Squad given the shot of Affleck looking at the Robin outfit with Joker's writing on it. Also, on the magazine, you see writing saying, "You let your family die." Only Jason Todd would have that insider knowledge of Batman's identity. Alfred is also quoted as saying, "That's how it starts: the fever, the rage, that turns good men cruel."

Could we see Red Hood in this movie?

Maybe I misunderstood what you were referencing, I thought you were saying he came out and said Doomsday wasn't in the movie.

Red Hood has the dark gritty storyline that would fit perfectly with the DC movie preference for how they like portraying their universe.

I think so too, I just hope not. They have been all over the Jason Todd storyline as of late.

He refuted the flipper thing and his role in the movie.

But then again, he could have just been covering his tracks.

I think Joker may be talking to Dr. Quinzell as he is turning her into Harley Quinn.

Quite possibly, but the rest of the argument stands.

It would be pretty neat to see the creation of Harley Quinn. I just thought she was tricked or seduced, more or less, into being a follower; she wasn't tortured into submission if I recall correctly.

Breaking Harley is a good twist. Creates emotional tension of a villain not fully acting of their own volition.

With Suicide Squad you're not going to have a true protagonist archetype, but a battered super hot blonde isn't a terrible substitute.

You have to find dynamic ways to get the audience to care about the character on some level.

Her and Joker have to be a major part of this.

Am I the only one who thinks Will Smith's character is gonna be a throwaway when there's already a ton of people fighting for screen time?
