Nzoner's Game Room>Chiefs Extending Travis Kelce [4 years, $57m, $28m guaranteed]
Dante84 12:08 PM 08-13-2020

Sources: The #Chiefs are closing in on signing star TE Travis Kelce to a long-term extension – at least 5 years – that keeps him in a KC uniform catching passes from Patrick Mahomes for the foreseeable future. Keeping their best players...

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 13, 2020

Very quietly, KC and the agents for Travis Kelce have been working on an extension to pay him according to his production. This should be done in the next day or so. The #Chiefs continue to do work. https://t.co/maqWkpFQD3

This is a flat out fucking lie. I loved Kelce coming out and loved the pick.

Ridiculous Travis Kelce stat: His 100 catches of 15 or more yards since 2017 are 31 more than that of any other tight end during that span.

As a smooth route-runner who doesn't take on heavy blocking burden, his game should age well.

Just digging around some 2013 thread seeing what I can find about Kelce. Hindsight is 20/20 but let's give credit where its due, and point and laugh at the people who were wrong.

We need to upgrade of receivers badly and this draft is not very good at WR. This is a good pick for the Chiefs.

Kelce walks in as our best TE.

Left tackles and tight ends don't win Super Bowls, unfortunately.

And we spend the first pick of the 3rd round on another one? Sad.

Please stop with this shit. If he actually compared to Gronk he wouldn't have been the 4th TE taken.

Compensation update: Chiefs are giving Pro Bowl TE Travis Kelce a four-year, $57 million extension that ties him to Kansas City for the next six years, per source.

Per source, Chiefs TE Travis Kelce's new deal is a 4-year extension worth $57.25 million, tying him to the team through the 2025. Structure is similar to DT Chris Jones' deal: No new money this year, sizable guaranteed roster bonus due early next year.

These 2 really stick out. King Contrarian and the miserable fuck Hamas.

I remember when Hamas was shitting on Reid before Tyreek’s name was cleared too. Fuck that pillowbitergot.

Veach seems to be liking the approach of "pay today's top market value, but don't actually pay it to them until tomorrow." That's kind of clever (and refreshing).
pugsnotdrugs19 01:29 PM 08-13-2020
So when you put all 6 years together it comes out about $12m per year give or take?...

That’s why it’s always smart to do these early when you can.

Yeah, pretty much.

Hi @chiefs? I have $177.00 in my bank account and I’d like to buy a mansion in all 50 states, the Dilbar M/Y, a G7, 3 Bugatti La Voiture Noires, and a Hermès Himalaya Birkin with a Diamond Panthère De Cartier ring inside. Can you have Veach give me a quick buzz? K, thanks!

Ask again in 5 years.

He’s been stellar, don’t get me wrong. I’ve already eaten a lot of crow on Veach. It’s just that folks were too quick to crown Schneider and Thompson. But with another title and I’m going to start throwing GOAT around.
