This is a very hard team to like...Bland personalities, absolutely garbage roster management, and settling for mediocrity while the masses say thank you sir may I have another while pounding $15 beers after walking through the absolute cesspool that is Downtown

Matz being the youngest projected starter going into camp will do that.

From a Facebook group

***Cardinals Economic FACTS ***

1. Team was fourth in attendance in MLB at 3.24 million fans. 2023 average ticket was $100. This is $324 million before one beer or dog was sold.

2. Cardinals made $60.1 million on national tv revenue.

3. Cardinals made $73 million in local TV revenue. Cardinals have the 7th highest local TV revenue in MLB.

4. Ball Park Village used taxpayer money to help finance the development. This is believed to bring the ownership a huge profit over $100 million annually.

5. Cardinals downsized their minor league operations post Covid.

6. Cardinals reduced their baseball and non baseball operations payroll by 1/3 post COVID. Those jobs have not been filled.

Information of note. Bally Sports maintains their deal with the Cardinals this season because even paying the Cardinals $73 million they still make a profit televising Cardinals games. (Bally has already dumped teams they were losing money on) This logically points to the Cardinals making at least $73 million in local tv revenue if not more in 2025 and beyond.

Form your opinions based on facts or the Cardinals ownership and front office narrative. Your choice.

In case anyone needed some good news today:

Cardinals have announced a press conference to discuss a new contract for manager Oliver Marmol. His deal was set to expire at season’s end.

The front office recently praised his leadership this spring and ownership has shared its support of him.

News soon @stltoday.
