Nzoner's Game Room>Raiders were most fortunate/lucky team in 2016
TigeRRUppeRRcut 05:20 PM 07-21-2017
Per ESPN statisticians: http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...-bill-barnwell

2017 impact: The Raiders won 12 games but outscored their opponents by only 31 points, producing a Pythagorean expectation of 8.7 wins. That gap -- 3.3 wins -- is the fourth-largest since 1989. They're likely to decline.

--

This makes a whole lot of sense if you watched the games. It seemed pretty suspect they were getting strange calls in their favor, especially in that game played in Mexico.

This is true, BUT they are a team whose current trend is one of improvement.
When they start to show signs indicating that their level of game play is beginning to plateau, or starting to regress, then we can say that are not the up and coming powerhouse that many are proclaiming them to be.
Honestly, they look like a force to be reckoned with.
They are young, they've got some All-Pro talent, and a QB who LOOKS like a franchise player.
I think Vegas and KC are going to be the Class of the west for a long time.
It's going to be a fun rivalry, and they will both wipe their asses with Denver many, many times.

Oh, and **** the Raiders.

Nonsense.

1-7 against the Chiefs under Reid.

The Raiders didn't beat a single playoff team last year and play a much tougher schedule in 2017.

The usual whiny cocktards have shown their stupid faces in this thread.

How unusual.

That's what I'm talking about...the media hype started after the 2015 season. I was like WTF...they didn't beat anyone good. Something was off...as they were a 7-9 team that beat the 5-11 Ravens, 3-13 Browns, the 4-12 Chargers x2, the Geno Smith led Jets and the Osweiler led Broncos. The most impressive was against Denver 15-12. Five of their 7 victories came against teams with 5 or less wins...one came against Geno who was later benched for Fitzpatrick..and the other was against Denver's back-up QB.

They didn't beat any play-off teams last year either except the Osweiler led Texans with help from the refs..and NOW the NFL hype-machine is predicting them in the AFC Championship game?

I've never seen anything like it....

When I found out about the Vegas move and the stadium, it all made sense. This had been in works for a while. It's a hard sell to move a perennial loser to a new city...and get the tax-payers behind it.

I called it out before the potential move was announced...that something fishy was up. Every pundit was hyping them after a very underwhelming 7-9 2015 season...there were no blowout or signature wins.

It's one thing to short spot the ball once...maybe the ref had a less than optimum angle on the play...two times in a row, you start to suspect he grew up in Oakland...but THREE times in a row, which finally forces a challenge and they still uphold it. The fix was in....it was the most blatant, overt directing of an outcome I have ever seen.

The problem is the billionaire dinosaur owners are still holding on to the gambling model from yesteryear...which worked until until HD replays/digital stats/ internet communication were introduced and started exposing the sham. They are either going to have to forfeit their entertainment license and make the NFL a legitimate, regulated sport...or millennials will ultimately tune out. It's not the 60's-70's anymore. Ratings are already dropping and sponsors are starting to pull out...

They have resorted to the old-school Edward Bernays propaganda techniques now...that if they get enough pundits to repeat a false narrative, the majority will repeat it. Adam Schein in one of their leading shills...

There's nothing to suggest the Texans would have scored anyways- You'd have a little bit of an argument if this were at the goal line- but it wasn't.. it was at the 16- The game was tied 20-20 with 8 minutes left in the game

You don't think the Texans had anything to do with Carr driving down the field 85 yards and scoring the go ahead lead with 6 minutes left in the game do you?

Texans had 5 minutes to tie the game, to do just what Carr did when he had the ball- and they failed and couldn't get it done-

Not only that, they punted with 3 minutes left in the game in hopes of stopping Oakland and getting the ball back-

It was 4th and 1- All the Texans had to do was stop this play and they get the ball back with a couple minutes left in the game... what happened?

Murray busted off a 14 yard run that gave Oakland a new set of downs- Carr simply took a knee- game over

The Texans didn't lose the game because of a bad spot- They lost the game because:

1)They allowed Carr to drive 85 yards with 5 minutes left and score

2) Texans couldn't move the ball down the field, got sacked and were forced
to punt

3) Texans couldn't stop Oaklands final drive to get the ball back

That's why the Texans lost-

From Fox Sports after the game....

Houston Texans lose to NFL Refs and the Oakland Raiders

Blown calls early and late doomed the Houston Texans in their latest loss as they fell to the Oakland Raiders 27-20 on Monday Night Football

It was a game that started and ended with some bad breaks for the Houston Texans. Those bad breaks started early on as the Texans were robbed of what should have been a 66-yard touchdown pass. Receiver DeAndre Hopkins took a pass out of the slot from quarterback Brock Osweiler and turned it up the sidelines before being called out of bounds as the Oakland 40.

ESPN replays showed that Hopkins never was out of bounds and should not have had the play called dead after gaining 26. The drive then stalled and Houston had to settle for a field goal thanks to the error by the refs.

The refs again handed a bad break to Houston on a late fourth-down play. Head coach Bill O’Brien gambled with just over six minutes to go. The call was a run up the middle in which running back Akeem Hunt seemed to easily pass the first down markers, but the refs again did the the NFL refs do best — they messed up the play.

They called Hunt short of the first down, and even after it was challenged they somehow called it short. The terrible call allowed Oakland the opportunity to take the lead back 27-20 on a touchdown by receiver Amari Cooper.

What you failed to remember is that there was only 6 minutes left. A first down on the 16 would have given the Texans time to grind the clock or forced the Raiders to burn their remaining TOs. The refs weren't having it...

It was impossible for the replay official not to see he got the first down... it was ****ed up.

The Raiders outscored opponents 42-0 during the final three minutes of the 4th Quarter last season....rigged.

So go complain to the Jesuits. The Raiders were just following the script.

The officials were following the script...when your corporation has 32 collective owners and can potentially fleece the tax players for a shiny new 2 billion dollar office...why not? They all win...

It's just business....the relocation fee an owner must pay for the right to move a franchise, which Rapoport reported is $550 million. CHunt gets a nice $17 million bump...

You can keep stomping your feet and pouting- the bottom line is when it was crunch time and score was tied- both teams had the same amount of possessions when the final second came of the clock.,.. TWO

The results?

Oakland went 85 yards and scored... and sacked the the Texans and forced them to punt

Texans couldnt move the ball 25 yards, nor could they stop Oakland

That's what separates winners and losers- One team gets it done in crunch time and the other doesn't

That's what happened- Texans should have kicked the FG, putting them up by 3, then they should have drove down the field and won the game- afterall- you been flapping your gums about what a shit defense the Raiders are- Well, if they are shit- How came the Texans couldn't move the ball on them in crunch time?

Like I said- last year is last year- and the only teams that talk about last year are losers except for the SB champs-

What's important is whats ahead of teams in 2017- The Chiefs are imploding within- Fans hate Smith, he knows it, his team mates have no conifidence in him- Reid even knows that- The firing of Dorsey, Berry, and Peters and others skipping OTA's showing absolutely ZERO interest in the team, the cutting of Maclin, and now this tweet rant from Hali-

All the while- there were 100% participation in the Raiders OTA's , Oakland got even stronger on offense and added more pro bowl players to an already explosive offense, and have added great players to their defense-

The Raiders are focused and are frekin serious about putting the stank on teams this year- You better hope the Chiefs somehow get out of all the negativity surrounding the team because right now, it aint looking good- and it's gonna start week 1 when they get curb stomped by the Patriots- The Chiefs will begin to fall apart by week 8- they'll be locker room content, uninterested players and a QB that has no confidence from his players-

I wouldn't be surprised if the whole bottom falls out of the Chiefs this year

Remember that part of comparing your football knowledge to an infant...yeah, it still stands.

Reid brought the 1-5 Chiefs back to 11 straight wins and the play-offs. A few off-season Tweets dont mean shit...

Dont be surprised when a tough 2nd place schedule shines a light on how average the Raiders truly are. They have 9 games against teams with at least 9 wins last year. Good luck with the miracle late 4th quarter comebacks against decent QBs/defenses....Carr doesn't play Osweiler this year, the only play-off QB he has defeated in the past 2 seasons. He's a back-up in Cleveland now..

Not to mention they brought in Cordelle Patterson who is 2nd in the NFL record books on return yardage after Jim Brown-

They got the best Defensive player in the league and getting back a healthy MEJ- They drafted well on defense.... This is a whole new Raiders team with more firepower on offense- Any team is gonna have to score 30 points to beat that team- Cause their gonna be the 99' Rams on offense this year-
Jim Brown wasn't even a kick returner, you fucking retard.
