Nzoner's Game Room>Can we talk about Tershawn Wharton?
staylor26 09:36 PM 11-02-2020
This guy is like really fucking good.

He’s playing so well as an UDFA rookie at a position where guys just simply don’t usually play that well until year 2 or 3.

His upside is extremely high for a guy that’s just a rotational player right now. Him and Jones as our interior pass rushers is going to be unfair for the next few years.

Wharton only gonna get better. Danna and Wharton may be our cap heros in a couple years.

He's looked really good for a rookie, much less an UDFA. Kid could be a valuable piece of the puzzle the next few years. Having a rotation piece with Jones is valuable as hell, not to mention their ability to team up on obvious passing downs and wreak havoc. Going to be fun to watch.

Man, all you MUST alums had best be ordering Wharton jerseys as we speak. Dude is a badass with an incredible motor who isn't going to be outworked by anyone. His spot is about as secure on this team as anyone's, sans Sir Patrick.

Players like Danna and Wharton tell you everything you need to know about our front office.

Striking gold on a late rounder at any position is like a team winning the lottery. Its even better when you hit on a position of need.

It’s really not all that surprising though when you think about it. Like I said, that’s a position where guys usually don’t play this well in year 1.
If he was just a combine warrior, I think it would be more surprising. But, wasn't he wrecking teams in his league? I thought (can't look it up right now) that I remembered reading how he was dominating opposing teams, and that it was surprising that he wasn't a late round pick.

But, I may be full of it, and not remembering correctly.

Dominating teams at a lower level is a good thing, but he was dominating teams at a very low level. Rolla is a step below semi-pro ball. I think it would be really hard to evaluate a player in that situation. It would be like evaluating you or me playing basketball against third graders.
