Nzoner's Game Room>Reports: OBJ (being shopped) & Allen Robinson (requested trade)
Dante84 02:38 PM 09-15-2020
Two big name and expensive WR's may be moving to new teams.

OBJ

The #Browns should let Odell Beckham Jr. seek a trade if they remain committed to Baker Mayfield, and one report says they're already shopping him https://t.co/avLrfbne5v

Allen Robinson

Sign some more free agents?

You mean sign their free agents? Godwin, Barrett, David, Suh just to name a few.

He'd be stupid as **** to pass up money that would set his family up for life to ring chase in the prime of his career. His career could end on the first snap of the 2021 season, you think in that case he'd rather have a superbowl ring that the chiefs would go on to win or have $100mil in the bank?

I'd welcome him to be dumb enough to sign with us for #2 receiver money, but there's no way he does. He'll either to go a team that can give him both the money and contention or just a team that can give him money.
Dude has career earnings of 46 million already and he is only 27 years old. Lol I think his family is gonna be okay. Maybe he wants to play on the biggest stage with the best QB in the league and go after a ring. He's not going to play here for peanuts but damn Veach move some pieces around and make him an offer. Sounds like he's willing to take less to go after a title.

Whats gonna make the guy happier when he hangs up his cleats? Career earning of $105 million and never playing with a serious contender and dog crap quarterbacks or career earnings of $85 million and a Super Bowl or two running with Patrick Mahomes? I don't know the answer to that question.

I have always sang the praises of Allen Robinson. The guy would be a beast with a legit QB. But he'd have to take a serious pay cut to come here you'd imagine. At least compared to what some other team could offer.

Or maybe, just MAYBE it was all the slant routes he took to the house from a shitty QB nobody feared deep.

But your point still stands. It was 5 years ago.

I must have missed the times when prime elite players say -outright- that they want a ring and the money doesn’t matter.

Can you refresh my memory with a few examples?

What makes you think the Bears will give him the opportunity to even make this decision? They're not gonna franchise him for what reason........?

He didn't even say that money doesn't matter wtf?

And here's tom brady and clowney saying they just want to win

https://www.si.com/nfl/seahawks/news...rn-to-seahawks

Now can you show me all the players that took a MASSIVE discount(which is what Robinson would have to take) in their prime to go to a title contender?

I mean I'd swap him out with Sammie "broke dick" Watkins and Mecole "no field awareness" Hardman even steven.

Not sure that's enough, but that's what I'd open with.

Allen Robinson seems like a pipe dream unless he’s willing to take a really creative deal.

But let’s dream for a second.

Say the Chiefs can swing Mecole Hardman to the Bears as part of compensation for him (Hardman + a 4th)?

They could then either play him one year on the franchise tag (highly unlikely, IMO) or work out a 2- or 3-year deal that’s heavily incentive laden?

That would be a major coup.

Wont happen, but it’s fun to think about.

Robinson is an UFA so the Bears can’t trade him unless they decide to franchise him which seems unlikely.

News out of Chicago makes the franchise tag seem like it's on the table/likely.

He should refuse to play and demand they trade him to Kansas City for a future 7th round pick.

Makes absolutely no sense why they wouldn't tag him. Ppl in here are dreaming if they think we're just gonna grab him off the street for 10 mill a year.
