If you're referring to the thread created here about them adding the game, I don't think it was worded well. I think it meant they were adding a 17th game, not necessarily they would play week 17.

It would be dumb to have that as the last game of the regular season. Suppose either team, or both, have wrapped everything up and have nothing to play for? I can't imagine Andy being dumb enough to play Pat in a meaningless game heading into the playoffs.

Exactly, the NFL wants Mahomes vs Rodgers, especially since Mahomes didn't play the year prior. I'm sure it will be a mid - to - late season game but definitely not so late that Mahomes or Rodgers will be sat.
