Snyder's Man of Steel, which rebooted the Superman franchise, has grossed north of $600 million worldwide since it hit theaters this June.

Warner Bros. is about to bring together two of its most iconic heroes: Superman and Batman will unite in a new film, the follow-up to “Man of Steel,” set for release in 2015.

According to two sources with knowledge of the movie, Warner Bros. intends to announce the news at its Comic-Con International panel Saturday morning. Said a Warner Bros. spokesperson, “We don’t comment on rumors regarding these properties.”

“Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder is expected to reunite with screenwriter David S. Goyer and star Henry Cavill for the new film. It’s unlikely Christian Bale will step back into the bat suit, as the actor has indicated publicly that he has moved on from his days as Bruce Wayne.

“Man of Steel” producer and “Dark Knight” trilogy director Christopher Nolan is expected by some to produce the project, but the exact nature of his involvement is unclear.

The move marks the culmination of years of effort on the part of Warner Bros. and DC Comics to bring their superheroes together in a similar fashion to their primary competitor Marvel, which successfully combined its superheroes into a $1.5-billion box-office hit with “The Avengers.”

In the comic world, the two heroes are teaming up in a new series, “Batman/Superman,” by writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee.

So is the premise going to be Supes uses his new power they just introduced in the comic- the nova explosion thing? It's so powerful that it depletes him of all his stored energy, and he is essentially human for a few days until he can recover and gain strength from the yellow sun?

a depowered superman is a 2 minute fight for The Bat
and 3 minutes for Green Arrow, 1 minute for Wonder Woman, and 30 seconds for The Flash

Superman without powers is Alex Smith

The ironic part is that DC and Snyder have been trying to convince the world that their adaptions are grounded in the real world and therefore, more realistic than Marvel.

To me, the difference is simple: Marvel is 80's Rock. Parties, makeup, hot chicks, fun super heroes, big stages, bright lights, drunken nights and sex.

DC is 90's "grunge": Dour, apathetic, darkness, grunge, heroin, crazy ass bitches, shoe gazers, manipulaters and multiple deaths.

I thought the explosion after the introduction of wonder woman in the last trailer was a red herring. Not her. Maybe that's the nova.

So they adjust it to make it take longer to gain back his powers and the come back incrementally.

It would make more sense than going from 0 to in 24 hours back to 100%. Certain abilities at a weaker level of power. Much like the whole Smallville premise of his powers maturing and not all just available in the blink of an eye.

Hence, why Superman has transformed into a tough story to create when the foregone conclusion is the guys invincible pretty much. He was a lot less powerful to start out in the comics.

In fact, his ability to fly was incorporated into the character because when they started making the television show, having him fly around was a lot easier and cheaper to shoot than him super jumping everywhere.

I think the Supes we see fighting Batman is actually the new Bizarro. He kneels before Luthor, a clear sign Luthor is either manipulating him or controlling him, and in all the fight scenes, Supes has the exact same expression on his face. Luthor finds a way to clone Clark, maybe through Zod's DNA somehow, incapacitates the real Supes, and sicks his Bizarro clone on Batman, drawing Wonder Woman and Aquaman out of the woodwork.

Daredevil was pretty dark. If Jessica Jones follows the comics, it will be very very dark.

I haven't watch it yet but was it as dour and bleak as DC? Was it as color washed?

I'm not trying to bait you, just asking.

Not as washed out but very violent and dark with most of the action happening at night. Probably the most violent superhero thing done yet.

As for Jessica Jones, well her superhero career ended beginning here and it gets worse from there. Much worse:

Purple Man looks silly but his power is widespread mind control and he is a sadist so he does things like this:

So the DC content is 1000x better, but Marvel is prettier?
