Okay, here is a place for the Golfers to talk about tournaments, clubs, swing help or thoughts.

Today is the Players Championship, which I think ought to be the 5th Major. Largest pot in the PGA. The daunting 17th, which seems to bring excitement every year. At least we will get to see Sergio blow up yet again.

I am ready to see some water balls!

Then, swing it straight back behind you. You'll notice that your right arm naturally rolls over as your left arm folds. As you swing it back to where the ball is, your arms will naturally close the clubface, and if you follow through to completion the clubface will be completely shut. That's pretty much what a golf swing should be, just on a different plane (one that matches the angle of the shaft relative to the ground at address).
Today I only took 6 clubs with me (6,7,8,9, PW, SW, LW) and hit about 100 shots.

It was sooooo natural. AND more powerful as the clubhead came in contact with the ball first. I literally stood there, mouth agape as I chunked up a nice divot using my 8i. The first 20 were may usual "swing easy and try to contact the ball" of which I chunked about 8.

The following 80 I chunked maybe 10. Now, not all of them were on target (alignment issue) but all of them were exactly how it's supposed to feel to hit the ball first andf then the ground.

Can you use this same philosophy with the driver? I mean not exactly the same arc right? But the same principle?

Dude, I really owe you for this. I'll have to send you a sleeve of balls.

Or phillfree can cup yours! (J/K phill)

I thought I gave kudos to Hamas with the "Hamas Handshake". It seems to have helped you and that's all that matters. Since his advice is working for you maybe you should blow Hamas? :-)

I just took a putter out of the basement and exchanged it with the one that was in my bag. If I didn't do it while I was thinking about it right now I would have forgotten. I should have never changed from the putter I just went back too. I was trying to find lightening in a bottle but I found poo instead. I just flushed it.

The biggest difference with your driver is your setup. Your trailing shoulder should be lower than the lead shoulder, whereas with other clubs they are even. This encourages a slightly upward blow. Otherwise, the swing is largely identical.

Here's the video I was referencing:

Monte is the man. I'm hoping to get out to California and spend a few days with him late this fall or over the winter. The guys who have done it on GolfWrx say he's a freaking magician.

I've been doing the Joey D Golf for probably a month and a half now. I believe it's helping some. In the end the golf swing is the best exercise for the golf swing but these exercises are helping me. I believe they could help a lot of people.

There will be a point this season that I lay off the Joey D and in about 10 days of doing so I'll really see the benefits. Maybe a game will be afoot about then.

Hit the ball really well at the range tonight, focusing on holding the club as loosely as possible. I have a tendency to let too much tension creep into my swing. I still struggle far more than I should with pitches from 30-50 yards.

Those are left sided shots to me. You can't have locked or ridged elbows and play with feel. Your left wrist on the other hand needs to be firm and in control. You can't flop your wrist and be a good wedge player.

I'm coaching my daughters softball team, and swinging the old softball bat has killed my golf swing. I am pulling every shot with an iron/wedge and I can't get my driver off the ground.

I'm really working to keep my feet quite, and head down, but it's like I've had to rebuild my golf swing.
