Andy was more pissed off during the Maclin release than we've ever seen him. He was snapping at reporters and he never does that. You could tell he was on edge and I bet some other players were expressing some bad feelings too.
I think some bad contracts, most notably Bowe, Grubbs and Tamba were building up to this move, but cutting Maclin was the final straw.
Andy and Clark most likely thought that they have most of their scouts here along with Veach, Borgonzi and the 2 new strong personnel men that Dorsey has hired recently.
This seems like a perfect transition to a guy like Veach who has a great relationship with Andy and 4 years experience learning Dorsey's scouting techniques. [Reply]

I am going to quote what someone I know put on facebook that basically verifies what I have heard from several friends that are Red Coaters, one of which has a family member that works in the FO.

Reid had final say over the roster, always has had. It's very difficult for a GM to build a team the way he thinks is wisest...when the HC has more control and final say on the 53 man roster. Reids history in Philly acting as both the GM/HC has not been successful in more than a decade. His most successful years were from 2001-2004. I do not trust Reid based on his history as a GM in Philly. Dorsey I trusted.
Reids draft history has not been as successful as Dorsey's either. Only McNabb has had long term consistent success as a drafted Reid player.
Reid is who brought Maclin here and tampered, not Dorsey. Reid is who wanted Smith in 2013. 20+ members of Reids coaching and training staff are people he's developed bonds with or family, that he's brought to KC and added to the payroll. Reid is who wanted Foles last year when no other team showed an interest. Mahomes is a Reid choice too. I sure hope he turns out to be a McNabb, and not another Reid QB bust.

I think in the end, 1000 years from now when we're all dead and gone, the overriding legacy of Chiefsplanet will be that it was an amazing repository of fail gifs. [Reply]

It is all a power trip or struggle for all of them, evidently including Dorsey who wanted a little more control and for Reid to have a little less control.
This is the problem with having the HC and GM "report" to Hunt. The "pecking" order is not in line so Hunt had to make a choice. I am not sure that he made the right choice. I would have leaned towards keeping Dorsey and getting a contract cap specialist to correct what appeared to be his only real flaws. Reid has proven that he will not change or overcome his flaws with clock management, time out usage and delegating the play calling. [Reply]
