Athletes are athletes. I get what you are saying, but I don’t think players like Lebron James would do well in soccer. Maybe American football, but not soccer. His body type I believe would just not bode well with the game.

His greatest asset would be fielding headers on corners.

Why would they not be good at soccer? Is athleticism not important? Just get short guys that are agile?

Well I bet there are a ton of NFL punters and kickers that would be soccer phenoms!! They can kick for days.

He would make an excellent goalie, no?

Soccer is such a complex game, with such a particularized set of skills to draw from, that there really are only two physical attributes that qualify as automatic advantages.

Straight-line speed on breakaways and height when performing headers.

Maybe, . . . fast twitch reflexes for a goalie.

So much of the rest of it can be game planned and platooned.

Soccer is so much more about skill, endurance and team synergy than imposing your will physically.

Offsides on the free kick, . . . there appeared to be handball in there as well, but I think the offsides pre/superceded it.

Look at #15 at the time of the kick, then #6 right wrist.

As much leading with the head on headers surprising you dont see any concussions and players getting knocked out cold. Has there been any documented CTE in soccer. I know there is a lot or flopping but heads coming together is another matter.
