I haven't heard anything at all on the Danny Shelton front.

If the Chiefs prefer see Jones play a little more on the outside, they could always bring Shelton in as another sturdier DT that could rotate between Williams/Nnadi and get Jones some work on the edge.

He was a solid player in NE last year.

If the Chiefs can't help the guy deal with his alcoholism without terminating their rights to him long-term, then they need to address that internally. By cutting him outright, they're throwing their hands up and saying "well, he's somebody else's problem now..."

How do you know they hadn't been trying to help him all along and this was just the final straw? Substance abuse issues are sneaky and dangerous. We don't know what all had gone on before this latest incident.

Yeah they do but if I’m trading for someone with one year left on their deal, it needs to be someone they feel good about extending or letting walk after the season.

Waynes is a guy who probably wouldn’t require much in a trade and you could just let walk after this year until you find a long term replacement. Howard is a guy who would cost a bit in a trade and you’d need to then make him maybe the highest paid corner in football to make it worth your trouble.
