Sutton should fall on his sword and make it easier on everyone.

That's true. I guess I got a little carried away there.

Still you see the success the Rams are having with such a young HC. I don't think the Chiefs should be afraid to think outside the box for the next DC hire. It might pay off big time.

Dude, just because he can predict a few rudimentary plays out of mostly basic power formations doesn't make him him qualified to run a defense :-)

Yet, Sutton calls his defense, his plays and concepts with no regard to the strengths and weaknesses of his players. If he needs a LB to drop in coverage or zone, and Speaks is in the game instead of DOD, it doesn't matter.

A good, competent Defensive Coordinator considers his his personnel when designing game plans and choosing defensive packages during a game. Sutton does not.

One of the things that Reid says that pisses me off the most is when he compliments Sutton for making adjustments, because he rarely makes adjustments that actually effect the outcome of the game.

If Ford, Houston, and Jones were not outstanding individual performers, we would have lost more than 4 games.

So, maybe we don't have many defensive players that are on the same level with those 3 guys, but it's the Defensive Coordinator's job to coach them up and to put them into positions designed to help them succeed.

Sutton routinely puts his players in positions that can only result in failure, unless the opposing team is just as bad as our defense.

When I look at the Chiefs' D PA from the last 5 years I see this.

2013-5th
2014-2nd
2015- 3rd
2016- 7th
2017- 15th
2018- 24th

Clearly a gradual slide. This was not an overnight thing. Same thing w us from 2007-2009. We lost key players over that time. Bill rebuilt the D from 2010-2012 and was god awful but was improving. From 2014-2018 its been OK because he added talent.

Sutton may be past his prime and has lost an ability to innovate, but in the last 2 years y'all have lost Peters, Johnson and Berry. Plus I thought Sean Smith was a decent CB2 for you guys.

I think y'all have talent. Just need more of it on the back end at LB and in the secondary.

That's true but it certainly is a slap in the face to the Chiefs FO and entire defensive coaching staff that some guy in the booth can call those "rudimentary plays" out and nobody on half of the entire staff of the Chiefs could.

Bad look for the Chiefs no matter how you slice it getting clowned like that.

Hitchens was a good LB in Dallas but now he sucks. I cannot believe a player would fall off that quickly unless it relates to scheme.

Well it's either scheme or the massive drop off playing next to Sean Lee, Jaylen Smith to Reggie Ragland, Daniel Sorensen and whatever other turds the Chiefs throw out there in the middle of the field. I think in Dallas he was able to run free where teams didn't scheme against him cause there where other, better players that had to be double teamed/get out and blocked on. Now that every center, guard, fullback is targeting Hitchens and taking him out of the play there's nobody left on the Chiefs to even make a play.

This fucker better be gone after today.

Free agents are going to be a lot more hesitant to come play here if they don’t trust the DC who they will be playing for on that side of the ball, which is a more important factor now with Mahomes.

I’ve got a feeling that many players are going to want their agents to take a long hard look at what KC will offer..

Hitchens was a WLB in Dallas, the problem is Ragland is horrible. Hitchens cannot be #1 MLB he is best covering over middle and playing support. He needs to play 2nd fiddle to a real run stopper.

C.J. Mosley please!

You are probably 100 percent right. The problem is I don't think they can afford to pay TWO inside linebackers 45 million+ lol

I never have learned how to link anything.

Rotoworld.com is reporting internal discussions are ongoing about Buttons but no decision has been made yet

Apparently we were the first home team to ever score 30+ in a conference title game and still lose. :-)

How can this fuck keep this job??

Oh, don’t worry, I ain’t arguing that. Just that the Romo for DC thing needs to stay what is: a joke.
