This is why he is better than Kittle. I hear people on TV and on the radio talk point to Kittle's blocking and his speed as reasons why he is better than Kelce.
But, Kelce has the entire route tree at his disposal, and is the absolute master at finding an open spot in a zone defense. Kittle is a basic route runner, and even with his speed advantage, Kelce still has significantly more catches of 15+ yards than Kittle since George came into the league.
Kelce is a good, not great, blocker, and he has slowed a little, which is to be expected. But he is so smart and savvy, and is a tremendous route runner, and he is so in tune with Mahomes, that once Mahomes breaks the pocket it feels like there is a 75% chance that Kelce is going to make a catch for a 1st down.
And he is going to finish his career in Kansas City.
Haven't seen it talked about on here but Mitch brought it up, Osemele has moved into the number 1 spot at LG. If he could regain form and he what he was when healthy, hell, he could be an upgrade. [Reply]

Chiefs practice is over for the day. Watkins did not practice. Edwards-Helaire was suited up but did no work. Darrel Williams was the first-team featured back.

Bashaud Breeland had a pair of interceptions, one on a tipped pass from Mahomes and the other when Mecole Hardman threw a pass that fluttered and never had a chance to reach a receiver
