Production on the first Star Wars live-action streaming series has begun!
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode.
Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for updates.

Anybody have any idea if the “the Book of Boba Fett” is a spin-off series or is S3 of the Mandalorian? Considering they refer to these episodes as “Chapters” and the somewhat final nature of Don Djarin/Grogu arc, it wouldn’t surprise me that much if it was the latter.

38 and I had happy tears as well. Google news spoiled it a bit for me but this was fantastic. Better than the sequels and following trilogy. We saw a glimpse of Luke being a badass in rotj but then teddy bears. I'm glad I got to see that again.
One critique I have that I can’t even take credit for. At the ending when mando asks Luke if he’s a Jedi, my oldest son was like he should have said, I am a Jedi, like my father before me.

that de-aging tech they are using doesn't come close to overcoming the uncanny valley. I felt like I had to purposely tell my brain to shut up and just accept what was on screen. While I'm glad that Mark Hamil is back to work on Star Wars... I really wish they would have just cast Sebastian Stan and moved forward.
